How did you get the tail lights design? Clear stickers? Also are there holes for indicator lights in the tail? Looks sick man
@toppertoppАй бұрын
Hi, thanks. The rear tail lights are masked out and no additional stickers. You could fit indicator led's in place of the tail lamps.

Great work - never realised the connection to the terra scorcher!! Ive just bought the manta ray which was my first rc car back in the day and now its my first rc car again for nearly 30yrs. Really fancy getting a neo scorcher too! 👍

Ugh, I was worried you’d say that 😂 you had to mask the entire car for that 1 strip at the bottom…

Yep, unfortunately. Problem is, iff you spray the silver first, then the black, the black will bleed through the silver 😔

Great build,looks fantastic,going to be my next one. Do you not do them any more ?
@toppertopp Жыл бұрын
Hi, thanks. A bit of advice when you build one, glue the rear fenders on first before spraying. Iff you spray the rear fenders first and then glue them on, the glue attacks the paint and can be a pain to stick and ends up creating a mess. So glue them on first, then spray together with the main shell. I don't build them anymore, but that's not to say I wont in the future. If Tamiya release something special, like an 80's re-release I could be tempted. I do still have a collection though.

Did the actual midnight purple #2 on my d spec but I have other plans for it. Brushless and 3s. Ran a tc4 on the electronics I have in mind. It ran around 70mph and was fit for a main. My e-maxx runs over 90mph on 6s Momba monster. However I need to clock it again because I put 8th scale tires on it 😅

One more question lol iam new to all this,can you overlap with the masking tape on the edges say like the wheel arches?.
@toppertopp2 жыл бұрын
You mean fold it round to the outside of the shell? If so then yes. Make sure when you peel it off it doesn't remove the protective film. I tend to use news paper for masking large areas on the inside and fold it round to the outside, then just secure in place with tape.
