Your PTU is not in its original place. It was moved some time in the past.

The engine isn't original to the car. It's a 6g74 not a 6g72

hi there.i just bought a 1993 3000gto ..but my speedo douse not work till it hits around 40mph then works ok.? will this be the same fix?

Unfortunately the answer is no, your speed sensor is going to be linked to the drive axle. It's not something I've personally looked for but i could probably locate it if you need help finding the info.

You need to check your speed sensor, which is located on top of the transmission, behind the motor. Another source of the problem could be the gauge cluster itself.
