@Accuaro11 күн бұрын
Watch Ancient Gameplays video on FSR in Hellblade, these devs just throw it in with little optimisation. Like the fact a MOD of FSR is better than native implementations just saddens me, and to some degree FSR in Cyberpunk as well. They said they would add the latest FSR but never did. EDIT: AMD has to update their FSR tech to mitigate this bcuz some devs wont optimise it, and so far the best native version of FSR I have ever seen is Ghost of Tsushima which funnily enough uses the latest FSR version.

@@Kapono5150 Fair enough, I persoanlly don't put that much thought into DLSS considering you pay a premium for Nvidia cards (like it can range from a hundred to a few hundred) in comparable performance. I mostly play games like Overwatch, CS, Destiny and a few roguelites, indie and AA games. So yeah, depending on who you are maybe that holds a lot of value but I'm fine with what I bought. I actually upgraded from a 6900 XT to a 7900 XTX, at least here in Aus a 7900 XTX was $1300 while a 4080S was $1800. At this point it's more like would you rather a 4070 Ti Super or a 7900 XTX and I made my decision quite easily lmao.

When people say that AMD drivers are bad, no one believes. This video is proof of it. Some increases in FPS are massive. At least Intel admitted it, and they are not calling it a feature (fine wine), just as AMD does. It takes several years for AMD to fix their drivers (best example Radeon 200 and 300 series bad from the start, 'fine wine' never helped). In many cases, after 2-3 years, you will no longer own the same gpu, so buying an AMD gpu for their 'fine wine' marketing gimmick is nonsense.
@badass630012 күн бұрын
Bad drivers corrupt your PC and kill GPUs, weak drivers get less performance than they should. The former Nvidia has done multiple times. Also you act like Nvidia doesn't get any performance improvements from their drivers... if that was the case, they'd stop making new ones...

Great idea for a video and well done. I'd be interested to know how much of the performance gains come from driver optimizations and how much comes from higher core clocks. Do you have a way to measure if the core clocks were "enhanced" over time through the drivers? Maybe with HWinfo64 and watch the effective clocks and all that? I don't have an RDNA 3 GPU so I'm not sure of all the various clock metrics that can be measured. I know this wasn't as much of a thing back in the days of static clocks, but nowadays with the boost algorithms and base/boost/game clocks it can matter a good bit over time if clock behavior is modified. I know Nvidia had to do something in the drivers when Ampere released regarding clock behavior. If you have a 4080/4090 I'd love to see this same approach of oldest drivers versus newest drivers!
@Nicolas11x12English4 күн бұрын
Thank you very much! :) In fact, newer drivers did actually increase overall clock speeds for the RX 7900 XTX, but that's often not quite enough to allow for such huge performance gains. It depends on the game title. ^^

I'm so happy that you still have the reviews of the hd 6670 GDDR3 and GDDR5, because I was wondering if there was any performance difference between the two since I'm building a retro PC and now I have my answer 50% difference, that's big and goes to show that even on low-end GPU back in 2010 memory bandwidth was king.

I would say milk. Give me good drivers from day one, or just forget it..... Fine wine....when you purchase a new product with issues, but vendor calls them 'feature'. promising to fix them in the long run. Sorry, but in tech world, 'fine wine' should not exist, it should work as intended from day 1. Considering that tech gets obsolete in time, 'fine wine' b/s does not help.

Creative Labs was the pinnacle of gaming audio before gaming was a marketing term. Their cards were always in my builds going back decades. Unfortunately, I’ve gone almost completely wireless in most of my daily driver builds and don’t like headphone wires (or any wires) anywhere near my desk. I wish there was a way to get the amazing signal from one of these cards into a non-biased high end analog set of headphones. The Steelseries Nova Pro headset seems to be the only real candidate for this scenario but I wish there were other more “pure” options out there.

I bought over a month ago a Biostar RX 6700 XT, card is quiet and cool. Before that first time I bought new card was back in 2018 with GTX 1050 Ti, which was around 250e and and RX 6700 XT now in 2024 is around 310e. I owned a GTX 1070 which was second hand and used for mining for 180e. Thing is, my experience so far with Nvidia is EXPENSIVE gpus at launch, and when price are finally settled you get a product that is outdated and slow. Its same with AMD but at least price drop is way faster than Nvidia. For 310e I can get RTX 3060 which is way slower than 6700 XT. But Nvidia has at least for me its driver stability. For a month now, I experienced one green screen crash and numerous other but minor problems with AMD card, and I think that is the reason why most people buy Nvidia over AMD. RTX performance is useless, without upscaling you will need an RTX 4080 and up to play games at 60fps( Witcher 3 or CP).

It's a good chip that can do both gaming and productivity, but got shifted because of the initial price, and the sister chips performing really well. It performs worse in gaming when compared to 7800x3d, but that's because people are comparing it to the best gaming chip on the market right now. Remove 7800x3d from the equation and this chip is easily one of the best for this generation, destroying every non x3d and Intel chips out there. And the productivity performance are pretty acceptable, unlike 7800x3d that got beaten by midrange intel chips for this category. I can't say this for everyone, but I tend to lock in my FPS at a certain point. So the extra 10% I would get from using the sister chips doesn't really matter that much, especially when ALL x3d chips hitting very high numbers in the first place. But productivity is different. It's pure performance pumping. We don't "cap" our performance during these type of tasks, and this is where 7900x3d shines. It has way better productivity than 7800x3d It ran way cooler with lower temps than 7900x and most high-end Intel chips (you can save more with less robust cooling) Its cheaper when compared to 7950x3d (albeit weaker performance) Alot of people seems to think in the extremes. Gaming = 7800x3d, productivity = 7900x. What if I wanted both but I'm not rich enough for 7950x3d? Then 7900x3d is the answer.
