I remember watching this episode first time around. The puzzle in round 2 was THE LEANING TOWER OF PISA, and one of the contestants picked up the Surprise wedge from the wheel in round 2 but didn't solve the puzzle, so they didn't win it

Can appreciate why in the 1996 final Tony didn’t give Jess and Richard the chance to solve, the winning of the car just seemed like a non-event when the puzzle was solved by one of the losing families.

UPDATE (15/11/2024): Jess in the end was not awarded New South Wales Australian Of The Year for 2025, the award went to Kath Koschel.

I realise difficult under studio lights etc, but I think my pet peeve in the jackpot round is players who don't even try and talk words out and just go "no idea". Like it was clear the first word began with R, would it absolutely kill you to throw some R words around?
