I've lived in Bluefield for 6 years. It's a great little city. The natural beauty of this area is unbeatable. There are many beautiful old homes built in the early 1900s. Enjoyed your video.

The one building you didn’t get the name of in Beckley was the judicial annex. It was built on the site of the former GC Murphy’s store.

That Hotel Wyoming in Mullens you passed was in its heyday a well known and terrific hotel. Babe Ruth and John Kennedy stayed there.

I believe that the excavators you saw were for the demolition of the Montgomery Ward’s building. There had been a few downtown buildings that were in poor shape that had to be torn down. That tall building you commented on used to be a hotel and is now apartments for seniors.

My husband & I are recovering from Covid and uTube suggested this channel. I was listening to your video while lying down with my eyes closed and immediately thought: that sounds like Mike Friday! I opened my eyes, saw a snippet of the travado and I thought: that looks like Mike and Karen’s van! Then it showed a snippet of you, and as bad as I feel, it made me chuckle. Couldn’t believe it-didn’t know about this channel. We of course subscribed😊. Another great channel and a pick me up for the day!

@michaelbragg69034 ай бұрын
You can feel sorry for people like that in every city and state in the country. A lot of West Virginians don’t want to leave. Why go to another place where people will not help you if you need it and would let you suffer? That doesn’t happen in West Virginia.

@@michaelbragg6903 The thing is if they would move to where there's work they wouldn't be waiting on somebody or the govt. to help them. I spent 50 years there and I know who's still there.

My family is from Tyler county. Our cousin Cecil Underwood was the governor and one of the first politicians to use TV in an artfull manner and I have a clip where he proposes that abandoned coal mines should be museums for tourists. Well, there ya go 😅 Can't wait to move back and see Ohio and West by God Virginia and New York. Videos like yours are so helpful.

When I was a kid we went to WV every summer. Had cousins and great aunts/uncles there. We’d stop in Moorefield to get groceries and then go go up 40 miles to the family farm. Cook stove in the kitchen, really back in the day. We’d go to Bluefield but don’t remember why, maybe it was for a auction. It was a beautiful time, beautiful country. My parents are gone now so can’t ask them. Thank you for the video.

Very nice walk and talk video on downtown Jonesborough, TN, Mike! Very well done! Also, I thank you so much for respecting and paying homage to the former residents of Jonesborough who are at rest in that historic cemetery. I wish more people would take the time to visit cemeteries/graveyards to help ensure that those folks who are buried there are not forgotten, after all, they all are an important part of our history.
