The blight mechanic would be nice for the reasons that you said. It would have given you a reason to choose some companions over other for certain missions. The ever-present feeling of "will they/wont they get the blight" as a player, suits really well for a grimdark/dark fantasy setting.

I think the keep to tthe stars part is a strong hint the last one refers to Commander Shepard. It doeesn't say follow the stars it says keep to them.

I played as him in BG3 as a Bard, DD2 as a Mage, and soon Veilguard as a Lord Of Fortune (as a mage). I drew him and he's up in my community post.
