I'm always excited when you do a video. You know exactly how to capture their relationship. If the world only had more couples like them.

I love the quote at the beginning of this video. That was the difference between Nathan & Lucas. Nathan never tried to change Elizabeth. Lucas wanted to change Elizabeth into the old Hamilton lifestyle version of Elizabeth that she left behind as a young adult when she finished college & came to Coal Valley to teach. Nathan did try to get Elizabeth to admit the truth in S8 that she was in love with him too, but once she rejected him with those cruel words in S8 Nathan accepted friendship having a steadfast, unconditional, and friendship love for Elizabeth in S9 & S10. S11 Nathan sensed the change in Elizabeth, but he didn't push Elizabeth or try to change her. Because Nathan sensed the change he did ask her, "what are they, are they just friends?" But Elizabeth had to be the one to come to him and say, "Friends don't look at friends this way." Then Nathan asked her on the lunch date (that Higgins showing up ruined) Then for Nathan and Elizabeth's relationship to be more than friendship with Nathan, Elizabeth had to be the one to open up to Nathan and admit she was in love with him. Now their relationship went from a solid, strong friendship & connection + love to a solid, strong romance and deep love with trust & honesty at the core with friendship still being a strong foundation for their romantic relationship! ❤ S12 is way to far away waiting for Nathan & Elizabeth's romance to continue.

Nathan Grant is an interesting study in determination, intelligence, practicality, strength, observation, and intuition all wrapped in one of the biggest hearted romantics, Elizabeth could have possibly met, not to mention contained in a very attractive package. He had to be terrifying so soon after she lost Jack. He was patient and she knew a good thing when she saw it, eventually having the good sense to give in to love.
