Denise Nickerson also made a one-off appearance in The Brady Bunch playing Pamela Phillips, niece of Mike Brady's boss that gets inadvertently fixed up on a date with Peter by his "lookalike" new school friend Arthur! Uh-oh! Hahaha!

Unbelievably Elizabeth Keen became a plot contrivance 😢 No Redemption for hardly any female Heroes or Superheroes ever! 😮❤ Ongelooflijk dat Elizabeth Keen een plotverzinsel werd 😢 Geen verlossing voor vrijwel geen enkele vrouwelijke held of superheld ooit! 😮❤

I also fantasized about Willie Gilligan/Bob Denver having a sour facial expression when Teresa Dortch hits Willie Gilligan in the fanny with a stainless steel girder with these nails welded to it. Or is that Teresa Dortch thrash Willie Gilligan with a bull whip/cat-o-9 tails? What's going on is that Willie Gilligan/Bob Denver isn't Sean Yasbeck who's from Great Britain. "I had the aptitude and the attitude to do this kind of work." That's what he told the Celebrity Apprentice correspondent.

I looked this up because somehow I’ve remembered this goofy song ever since I was little and saw this episode in syndication. But Wow! That closeup of Lovey Howell at around 1:40 astonished me because I always pictured her as old. And I’m sitting here at age 57 asking myself hmmm, how old was she? 😂🤣 I feel bad I don’t know the actress’s name. She never did get much attention next to Ginger and (especially) MaryAnn. She and Thurston kind of came as a unit. I honestly can’t help but think , after watching this in 6/23, about how so much has changed since the days when we used to watch Gilligan. Let us count the ways…. 😎

Idk if you’ve yet got an answer to your question, but here it is: Natalie Schafer was the actress who played Mrs. Howell, and prior to Gilligan’s Island, she had already had MANY roles in movies and TV. So she was already something of a “name.” And she was born in 1900 (!), making her 65 years old when she filmed this episode. I myself am 58 years old, and like you, I remember watching this episode in syndication (I just loved watching older TV shows after school!) when I was a kid! And this episode remains a favorite of mine. You’re 💯 correct about how so much has changed over the years since this episode aired in 1965. It’s truly mind-boggling, really! I mean, for example: Internet, smartphones, legal weed (it is also legal here in Michigan), “smart” everything, etc., etc.

Melanie "Kathy" Henderson was one of the coolest kids on TV... she's still one of the coolest people, period. This was one of those rare Short Circus bits without June "Julie" Angela in it, and though I do dearly love June, I always enjoy seeing Melanie getting a chance to shine. Strangely enough, she's said she was uncomfortable dancing, as she thought all the other kids were better than her.

Ronnie could have been so much more famous had she not been with an insecure jerk & eventual killer. Had I been Phil, I would have set her free to spread her wings, & if it was meant to be, she would have returned to me. Looking at Ronnie perform, you can see she was most alive & happiest singing :)
