So yeah, I'm still moving to Puerto Rico. Moving the homestead there. We will grow our own food and live off the land. Over the years, we have learned to live with less. Our kids are already homeschooled, I have a work from home job, no fast food, fancy crap, or just unnecessary things. We learned to preserve the food that we grow. We just want to live in our own bubble.

I would not be able to move to Puerto Rico anyway. I am an old retired man. I could not handle the humidity or heat. Recently I saw a video about Puerto Rico and it was very discouraging to me. It seemed as if Puerto Rico was just one big never ending beach party for young very extroverted people. I would be very out of place there. I do speak Spanish but not 100% and Puerto Rican Spanish is a little different and one of the hardest for non-natives to understand. It is also one of the if not the fastest spoken varieties of Spanish. Well, maybe the Dominicans might give Puerto Ricans a run for their money on that. Both are Caribbean Spanish. To be honest the Spanish language would be the strongest attraction of Puerto Rico to me. I have always wanted to live in a Spanish speaking country for immersion but that has never been possible for me. A week from today I will be 78 years old and I have been learning Spanish since I was 14 or 15 years old. In all those years I have had very little actual experience speaking with native speakers or even non-native learners like myself.

I live in PR since 1988 and have never thought of leaving. I wanted to return and packed my bags and left the US. I live a simple, comfortable life. Adjust your income and don't over spend. I love living in Puerto Rico. ❤🎉

The big problem in PR is the government , we need new people on politics

1- Cost of living? most states are super expensive. I live in New Jersey and the rent is super high, cost of a decent home just 3 bedrooms 1 bathroom over $200k and the car insurance? Uff In PR you just pay $99 annually for your car insurance and the rent is almost the same as in any USA state. Haven't you go to the Plaza del Mercado? organic food. 2. Job opportunities- right ok 3. Government???? please what an excuse. 4.Taxes??? ja like the IRS is going to let you do whatever you want. 5. Education?????? We have good schools and private schools and if you look at other countries...... hey, you really don't know what you're talking about. You're painting PR as a third world class country I won't lose my time anymore with you. Good luck finding your perfect spot to live. I live in the West but don’t mind traveling for good foods. Also, my family would love to connect with yours sometime!

Accurate video. Guys your time has value and there are opportunity of costs of going to sit on that island. The infrastructure is poor, public transport is non existent and we had power outages 5 times a week. The cost of food and services mirrors NYC, the taxation of ordinary wages is high and it’s rife with corruption. Unless you speak Spanish and can fully integrate with Spanish/ Latin American culture I not recommend this island to wealthy Americans unless they have obscene wealth and can shell out 3m for a place in dorado knowing they may lose on that investment. I also do not think the tax incentive programs are particularly fair to the locals who are being priced out in a new dystopian. They themselves deserve to live fairly. These incentive programs only benefit the corrupt government who has made it a national sport to steal over the last decades, old people who have sat in their properties minimally investing into it and the sleazy real estate agents on that Island.
