I know this is old video but I have a base model 05 with no power locks and you can lock from the inside by pushing in on the handles. If yours can’t do that the latch might have bent out of alignment.

Silly question: Is it possible to be leaning too far back causing the front end to go too far up causing the motorcycle to flip over backwards?

Yes. At that point you let off the gas or even hit the back brake stalling the engine to drop the front end. Or give more throttle to drop the backend. You need decent air for these manipulations to work. 1.5 or 2 seconds minimum airtime.

You have a bike? I haven't had one for 12 years but am getting the itch to get another. Got my wife a cheap Chinese 125 4 stroke and my kids a ttr50. I'd love to have a fuel injected 250 or 450 4 stroke. My wife will kill me.

You will be ok on shorter jumps, but long jumps you would have to go 200 mph and the landing would kill you. Alex was about the size of a Jockey.
