Tom, I have the SmokeFire EX6 Gen2. For the most part have been able to overcome some of the issues. All of my cooks have been fantastic on the SmokeFire. I see you have both Searwood & SmokeFire. Can you let me know your opinion on the pros and cons against each other? Would love to hear real world feedback
@Mcnasty19713 ай бұрын
I love both grills. The only advantage to the smokefire is that it has 4 temp probes. The Searwood only has 2 probes but has better insulation causing it to old temp more consistent. This causes food on long cooks to take a little more time than the smokefire. Food quality is about the same on both grills. Cleanup is way easier on the Searwood. I love both but the Searwood is an improved version of the smokefire. Searwood uses less pellets. Searwood gets to temp faster and shuts down faster. Hopper is better on the Searwood.

I’ve got the searwood doing a brisket on it now. I smoke ribs on it diddnt really get the color/bark that I wanted may have been my fault went 180 for an hour then 250 for the rest of the cook. The brisket I’m doing though I’ve hade it on smoke boost for 11 hours with a smoke box barley have color and bark just boasted to 225 hoping that will develop that bark a bit better brisket sitting at 141 degrees. I want this smoker to work out cause I like Weber we will see.

Do you think the Searwood is an improvement over the last model? Did Weber fix the flaws to their last design? How does the quality feel? Thanks for posting the first searwood cooking videos!
@Mcnasty19714 ай бұрын
Everywhere they needed to improve they did the only step back is the Searwood only has two temp probes. as far as sturdiness , the searwood is more stable because of the bottom shelf and it is cast aluminum

I just picked up a Searwood to replace my Smokefire. I have multiple grills, a Konnected Joe, and a Grilla pellet. I sold the Grilla pellet. tbh, the smokefire and now this searwood, seem to have a much better smoke profile when compared to other pellet poopers, such as the Grilla. I personally think it is because of the flavorizer bars. They'll never produce the smoke flavor of say a Kamado, or charcoal/stick burner, but they're much easier, and also produce a very clean smooth smoke. I've had some bitter food coming off the Kamado.

It looks so much smaller, yet it seems to have enough room that you could have done all the butts in it.
@Mcnasty19714 ай бұрын
Technically, it is smaller than the smoke fire, but it does not have the internal hinges like the smoke fire, which gives it equal amount of room. I could’ve easily fit nine butts on it, but I wanted to do a side-by-side comparison.
