From what I've heard, the nerf is pretty negligible.

@Varre922 it going from being a core mechanic from a single game to being non-existent in the others to becoming an equippable item really tells you what Miyazaki or fromsoft thinks about it. It's too safe. Why dodge roll when you can just tap the button and use less stamina than a roll, plus your recovery frames are faster.

@@shinigamigaming_yt default ash on smith script is piercing throw, it charges and throws a dagger at a long rage doing a bunch of damage. Mixed with grease or enchantments it would be a pretty interesting replacement IMO. EDIT: I double checked and it can’t be infused with spells or consumables. I also noticed personally that I couldn’t change the affinity on the default ash of war. EDIT2: I found that you can pick up the piercing throw ash of war, definitely can change affinity after that.

@@fuyuki3702 Yes, in FH disconnects don’t affect your stats. But them leaving right at the end makes it so the match basically didn’t happen for everyone else as well. So no one gets their rewards or XP. You basically just played a volunteer match because someone who can’t handle a loss decided to play

The best advice I can give on improving is thinking "what could I have done better?" after you die/lose. Even if you lose to an afeera or to a better opponent/hero there is almost certainly something you could have done better to at least make it a closer fight. You can also pick a hero that isnt very good or quite mediocre and play them, if you are playing duels pick someone like Centurion, Lawbringer, Warmonger, Kensei, Nobushi (depending on what platform you are on, like PC she will be weaker) Nuxia, or Medjay. Not that these heroes are terrible but they are definitely a lot weaker than most of the cast. To win you will need to have better fundamentals and reads, in short you will have to out play your opponent, and you will have to get a little creative to win. This will undoubtedly make you a better player. Alternatively stay away from the strongest heroes that will give you wins you where you would have lost on a weaker hero. Like Black Prior, Zerk, Varangian Guard, Orochi Shinobi Hitokiri Kyoshin Shaolin, Ocelotl, Afeera. Im not saying never play them again but when you feel like improving dont play them. Last thing you can do is record your matches and watch them and take notes on where you made mistakes. Overtime you will remember these mistakes and eventually they will become muscle memory or subconscious. Also pay attention to what good players like Shinagami do, how many things does he do that you dont? or what works on you but not him?

If you aren’t having fun then don’t force yourself to play! It’s completely fine if you don’t want to play. But if you want to improve then you have to keep pushing through and eventually things will get better! But if the game just doesn’t feel fun then it’s fine if you want to stop. A lot of people I know have stopped tbh

@@shinigamigaming_yt at a competitive level, due to his very limited 2 hit combos off neutral, he lacks so much actually trying to get his souls. yea it’s only 2gbs but then you actually have to try and get your bash. but a smart player will just never let you parry and will be good enough to dodge the slow neutral bash. in 4s he can be very scary though

any half decent player can react to the parry flashes. his ubs are so slow

@@MrValetol Yeah I agree it is pretty nonsensical. It’s not hard to get a GB nowadays. And then you can also get this from a heavy parry. Also another oversight is that you can collect souls from officers in breach. So people will be able to run around with all 6 souls very often

@@boxlunchmeboi4332 I can give some counter points to this. I appreciate the response! 1) This game did NOT need a one shot lol. It doesn’t add to a better gameplay experience. Especially in a gank meta, it just makes everything more frustrating for most players. The only thing that people don’t like is the grab. And the fact that in 4s he can just run around with all souls and do whatever he wants as long as he doesn’t die with them 2) The muscle memory thing won’t exist after a while of playing the character. People will just get used to it. He would have been better off with an actual less gimmick moveset 3) Getting a GB with him is a lot easier than people think. People can expect it but they also have to watch for unblockables. So it’s easy to fall into a trap. Whether it be a GB or a parry into Sohei getting a soul which leads back into his mix 4) Sohei’s zone is 24 damage and his heavies are 23. Granted the heavies are slow and don’t have armor they still hit hard. Only 30+ damage heavies are finisher heavies for the most part 5) The game needed something new if the new thing was thought through extensively. Sohei just feels like a Year 1 character who forgot to show up for work

@@shinigamigaming_yt never am I ever going to discredit someone’s opinion in fact, after reading this, I want to change some of of the things I said. For honor did in fact not need this one shot move. It’s my nostalgia talking when I say the game needed it. Also after putting another rep into him, his damage is not bad at all nowhere near. Is it as trash as I said it was this morning I literally just played seven breach matches and he’s fine with his damage, regarding 4v4’s that shit is insanely annoying, my poor buddy happens to be the target for almost every single sohei we encounter, they’ll just farm souls off of us and then go use the one shot on him and because he’s fairly new to the game and isn’t necessarily the best at it he doesn’t dodge it all the time, in my opinion, I think he’s very well-balanced, duels is a completely different story than it is for dominion or breach, because by the time you get the souls and duels another character would’ve already killed him, but in breach or dominion you get to keep those souls for when the person respawns, I think they could fix that is by adding a timer to the souls for like 30 seconds to 45 seconds, And his guard breaks although they don’t do a whole bunch of damage really gave him access to that move way too fast, I personally can’t think of a way to balance those but other than those few issues I have with him he seems like a fantastic addition to the game.

Also him being able to one shot off heavy parry is just dumb, I’m not gonna defend that, it feels unearned, and I hate it

@shinigamigaming_yt those that have played this game for 4+ years can't seem to understand the free win that's been handed to them, it's something they just can't seem to comprehend. His dmg and kit are bad for a reason, because if they were anywhere near the heroes we have in terms of dmg, everyone would be singing a whole different tune xD
