Thanks I didn't know you had to oil the felt under the arm.

Thank you for showing the step to take off the bottom. I never could get that end part off with those deep set screws so I just blindly stuck the tip of the oil way down in there and hoped I got it.

Ha ha! "Dreaded screw" is being polite. I was about ready to go postal trying to find that screw. Thanks for walking me through my first oiling on the 550e. :-)

Tell me about it...

Thank you so much. Very helpful. One note I would make is that since you have the whole bottom open, I think the inside arm felt can get oiled from there instead of trying to find it from the top.
@santoscraftingstudio Жыл бұрын
Yes, thank you. I found that out after I made the video and a few more oiling's. I was not liking the way I had to look through that slot.

That "blind screw" about did me in! I ended up taking the bottom off anyway as I dropped the screw inside trying to put it back in. Unfortunately, I found your video *after* completing my first oiling of the system. lol - gosh - I almost look forward to the next maintenance. I put it off wayyy too long and it needed a good oil job. Oh, and I broke that little tab off the cover too . . . don't think it'll be missed. And thank you for the USB extension information. I didn't realize that could be an issue and will order a 1 ft extender. Thanks for your pointers!

Very good thorough video. I am 73 and never had a machine I had to oil. Now I feel I can do this job without fear. Thank you.

No wonder this video is 40 minutes long. Could you speak any slower?

I felt her speaking was at a reasonable pace for teaching purposes. She was very easy to follow.

There are plastic gears in bottom part of the Janome 500e that has a white grease on them do you replenish that grease? If you do what do you use?

Is this the same way to oil the 550E?
@mrs.santos143 Жыл бұрын
I believe so. I think the 550E difference is that there is a larger embroidery hoop, so bigger embroidery field.

want to know where you go the thread holder and how did you attach it please.
@speedbully_842 жыл бұрын
Good job of showing where to oil and how to get there, but you do use too much oil. The pool of oil on the bottom of the machine indicates this very clearly. You start the video saying only a couple of drops are needed but I would say you double or even tripled that.
@judithdreitzler23982 жыл бұрын
