You're right, cars ain't cheap. Especially these days I remember a time when you could get a relatively nice sedan for under $1k. One big factor that kept costs down and also cars were cheaper in the past is that we had junkyards easily available, but these days only pick a part exists and most of them are way out of the way for most people. Once cash 4 clunkers happened we really lost purchasing flexibility and parts skyrocketed in price. Also if you're a "new car enthusiast" and want to fix your own stuff, get ready to make investments in tools. Take advantage of the wisdom and tool investments other people have made on youtube so you don't have to struggle and buy 3 of the same tool to do 1 job. The 1 benefit I get out of my current toolset is that I'm not waiting on an appointment from a shop except to get it inspected or suspension alignment (which is still DIYable).

Sorry to get back so late but I haven’t owned it in snow but as a fwd car as long as its not heavy snow it should do pretty good
