Love you Bruce but if you’d go to Gaza, as a Jew, you would stay in Gaza.

This could have been so much better. We wanted to see his photos, but all we got was the corner of a picture, for nearly an hour. Waste of time. All they had to do was move the camera out front, and we could have seen it all. Instead, someone who had no idea, stuck it on some funny angle and ruined the whole show.

Or maybe some of us came to hear what he has to say. If you want to see pictures, buy a book 😊

Yes, the angle could have been improved, no doubt, but it was the only real option we had, so better than nothing 😀 As for the images in the background... there were about 30 of them on a loop. If you want to see Bruce talk about those more in depth, you can watch his Bruce Gilden Annotated playlist.

If I were an ideologue with a cause, I would not allow the guy to talk like that about ideologues with a cause.

I have never heard that explanation of cutting figures off in the frame like that before. It’s generally something I’ve always tried to avoid if I could. You often hear the advice to watch the edges, keep the edges clean, etc etc. So to hear a rationale for doing this is fascinating. Thank you Bruce! I hear you’ve been in Bogotá… looking forward to seeing those pictures.

Bruce- they should build a hollywoood in HaIITI. Digital is cheap and Actors make something out of nothing. Same for Models, Musicians and athletes.

I've never liked the close-up in your face flash pictures, but the rest of your work is so interesting and I really like how you make your reviews and analysis of those powerful images. Love the videos! Greetings from Lima-Peru!

Finally, one of my favorite master photographers, Bruce Gilden, has released some great videos to inspire and teach. I will soon open my own photography and meditation channel on KZbin and one of the contents is inspired by "Take It or Leave It with Bruce Gilden" from the Vice channel. Thank you Bruce Gilden for inspiring me and so many photographers in the world. You are the "Bruce Picasso" of photography, you seem like a really cool guy. I admire the affection you have for the “real-life characters” you photograph! I would love to see your work done in China Town and in "Cracolândia" at São Paulo. You must come to Brazil dude! 🇧🇷

You’re probably the only person who’s ever spoken with these women and not spoken at them. A person could never get photographs like this cowering behind a big ass lens from across the street.

interesting self-portrait of you too - can you talk about your relationship to photographer then and especially now? / and interesting that Sophie like those pictures of women too - i love the back stories especially the woman with the dollar signs - did you ever shoot the French clochardes - my French girlfirend told me that the clochardes were not bums they had made a decision not to be part of society which i thought was insightful - i grew up in mad-hattan when the bums were not only the brooklyn dodgers too - love these last Annotated series too
