Leonhardt/Harnoncourt prove themselves again to be the golden standards of bach cantatas performance. Even though choir lacks cohesion a bit, the total sum of performance is wonderful: music + instruments + voices + conducting are probably as good combination as we're ever going to have

Un tel iconoclasme, une telle grandeur, un tel improbable paysage cosmique plein de ténèbres, de lumière, de peur et d’émerveillement et surtout de mystère, avec des déflagrations qui vous plongent dans une transe suivie de changements soudains qui vous réveillent, les yeux écarquillés et les sourcils frissonnants. J'écoute cela de temps en temps depuis des lustres et j'entends encore de nouvelles subtilités 🔥

eine sehr schöne weltliche Kanatate des Meisters zu Ehren der Kurfürstin von Sachsen und Königin von Polen .. die h-Moll-Messe ist gewiss gewichtiger aber dennoch ein schönes Stück deutscher Musikgeschichte

Ich liebe und verehre diese Kantate sehr und auch diese Aufnahme, die mir immer noch die berührendste und kraftvollste ist. Es klingt für mich so authentisch, so erfüllt, bei allen kleinen technischen Mängeln. Ich denke: ja, genau so oder sehr ähnlich hat das wohl damals in der Thomaskirche geklungen, frei von aller Gekünsteltheit und Oberflächen-Perfektion :-)
