Is the base 2x6 and the walls and rough 2x4 framing? In the video there were moments where it looked like the framing may have been something smaller like a split 2x6 or something.
@hcfd1200Ай бұрын
@@jmm2002 yes I went with 2x6 for the base to have a stronger frame to mount the four post on. The walls are standard 2x4. I did split the 2x4 in half above the windows , so the windows have room to fold up , you have to do that if you use those type windows. Thanks for watching. Should have given a few more details but didn’t want it to be a too long video

i ordered the same deluxe hinge window from deer view and am currently waiting for them to come in but dont want to stop the build process. i know the website says to rough in 1/2" higher and wider but yours looked a little snug going in. can you remember the measurements you used to rough in that 4x12 window?
@hcfd1200Ай бұрын
@@williamafloyd9957 I had mine there to measure so I made them a little smaller but if you make the opening 1/2 in wider it should work great not a half inch on each side, so that gives you 1/4 inch on each side

And some people try to argue a .243 won’t drop a whitetail lol. Here’s the proof! My Dad started me out on a Savage 110 .243 and it has put down many of critters over the years. Even though I own other bolt rifles in .308, 30-06, & .270, I still use the ol’ .243 from time to time. It really is a better cartridge than people give it credit for. I’ve even seen people harvest Elk with .243. It’s all about shot placement and the right bullet selection. Barnes TTSX 80 gr., Hornady superformance 95 gr. are my favorite atm.
