I was born and brought up in my grandparents house in Chennai constructed in 1966 using old technique. We never faced the heat inside the house even during peak summer. The terrace of the house was called Madras Terrace which used Wodden logs for its structure. The floor of the house was simple black floor without tiles. We had 15 feet gap in front and back so that the air circulation is always there. The house was sold due to very old structure, it was 50 years by them. Still i am missing the time we spent at the house.

If you used too much less of it, we'd starve. Everything the supermarket is either wrapped in plastic or comes in a plastic bottle. The manufacturers have to change.

How to cool our homes (even without ACs) notes: 1. be open to vernacular architecture 1. analyze the sun orientation in your house 2. study the wind direction 3. analyze traditional architecture and how it connects with nature 2. plants 3. wind towers (middle east architecture) 4. paint your house white 5. insulation 6. ceiling fans to circulate cool air 7. avoid glass, retains heat even if allows natural light 8. more efficient air conditioning units to controll humidity 9. consider renewable energy instead of consumable energy bec it makes the environment hotter

I still think the biggest part of smaller reactors is the effect on public perception. If they can literally SHOW you a map that says, even if this WERE a reactor that could go critical, and it DID go that bad, the radiation and damage would literally only hit the government land around it, then every old person I know would be on board THAT DAY. And i do mean that literally. There is a coffee table in the farming town where I grew up, and my dad still goes there every morning. This conversation happened.

Solar on rooftops has a better advantage in tropical countries demand for electricity peaks during the day primarily for cooling appliance like AC and electricfans, when the heat produced by sunlight is also at its peak Solar production would also be in its peak at the same time

Think you glossed over something important. How are the fuel rods changed and what is done with the waste? Do you need constant experts on sight? Who oversees the maintenance? Seems quite important. That's some dangerous material you're handling.

Amazing documentary! The views of these ewaste dumps were so dystopian to me. I'm not a fan of ewaste in general, and it's one of the reasons I'm iffy about aliexpress and temu selling cheap electronics with a short lifespan. To see all this trash piled in such masses is another reminder of how big of a problem that really is. I never understood why the blockphone didn't make the market. A phone with infinitely interchangeable components, much like a desktop computer, and then I learned about profit margins. Companies will choose finance over ethics at all times, which is nothing but natural in the current global climate. This is why a government should intervene, for the sake of the people. You can't expect a financially driven conglomerate to leave money at stake for the sake of society. Like that one man said, it's a difficult balance, but in situations like these answers should be rather obvious. I think the EU made a good decision with the USB-C enforcement, and it's great to see a developing nation like India jump on to that. It's a small start to a better world, and truth be told, it's better to build that world together.

Lol, if the cost was 4X the cost of normal nuclear power, and the mini reactor is 1/3 the size, it means they are paying more than the full cost of a full nuclear reactor for each smaller mass produced version. That doesn't make any sense. Why would it cost more to build and maintain a smaller mass produced version than a full scale nuclear power plant? It doesn't add up.

At least you have a semi secure place to store nuclear waste. In southern italy the situation is worse. Mafia and other criminal organization has put under the ground thousand o barrel. The problem is that there's farm and houses over it. As a mafia man said "it's worse than Chernobyl"

And then after we manage to save the wild bees someone else will release a video saying we need to save the hornets. The one thing that definetely should go extinct is "pseudo cta media". "This is a problem", "That is a problem", and then they are talking to people that can't do anything. This either should be a study or a convention for modern agriculture, or this is based on existing studies with a poor data pool. Thanks for making an almost useless video, because at least this gave someone major anxiety.

You did not address the issues of mining for rare earth, minerals, necessary for solar panels, and batteries as well as mining for lithium for the batteries as well. All of these things are eventually finite resources, and cause great damage to the environment, especially as they pertain to damage to underground reservoirs of water in deserts, as well as toxic and acidic, mining tailings in lakes that can literally dissolve a bird who lands on it.
