Hello dear, how old were you when you had all your teeth removed?
Hi! Which periodontist did you go to? I’m in New Zealand too specifically Hastings.

Had a gum graft exactly a week ago. First couple of days were very bearable pain wise - but food was a bit awkward initially to get used to. Then days 2-3 I started getting used to it and eating more, more variety etc. Pain hit from day 3-6 only mainly in roof of mouth as swelling went down on gum, gum doesn’t really hurt at all unless you touch it etc. roof of mouth will hurt but gargle water and salt and take anti inflammatory pills. Anyway… day 7 and everything seems to be okay hopefully but I can’t obviously check. It has been annoying but keeping distracted and still finding ways to eat so I feel okay. It’s definitely not as bad as I thought. Time goes by day by day and I’m able to go about my lifestyle as normal in general from the second day. Just eating is a bit annoying but the sting on roof of mouth when eating is the only issue, that goes away with sipping water simultaneously. And that area is t of concern it’s guaranteed to heal. The gum graft itself isn’t bothering me at all and I hope that means that it’s healing well. Hope whoever reads this has a lot of faith that it’ll go well. Btw… procedure I was completely awake very nervous at the beginning. But after a few mins of closing my eyes and singing to myself, popped a diazepam, yeah I was very calm actually - you don’t feel anything. It was actually quite fun I’d say almost as an experience. The only annoying thing like I said is roof of mouth will be a thorn in the backside but it’s honestly not that deep of an issue. Drinking water and small doses of painkillers will do the trick if even needed

I’m grateful for this video. I have a graft in a few weeks time, and it’s all I can think about most of the time. I have recession on one tooth in particular, most likely due to Invisalign.

These videos are a blessing to society! First of all THANK YOU SO MUCH for these. But also, it looks to me that your healing process took way longer than normal. Maybe your case was super severe, but it could be that your clinic just wanted you to keep coming back and charge you over and over again.

You are blessed. After watching you - I have been like: "I might do not need this surgery". They are all grooming you it is easy, and painless. I look at the surgery on youtube- I really did doubt in their story. You are sad it all...if that's progress, maybe there is another way. Did you hear anything about laser treatments of gums, do you have any experience?

Did you or any of you had the experience that a white coating occurred on the gums of and around the surgical area after a couple of days or a week after surgery? I've read somewhere that it is supposed to be like that and that this coating helps the gum to heal and you should not rubb that white stuff of, but it also seems that no one mentions this, so I'm not sure if this is indeed normal. Also because of that the gum feels a bit stiff and tingly. (btw. and I had a graft surgery without stitches, the gum is held by collagen stripes)

Thank you for your video. I just had a gum graft done and the gum are more receded still than I had hoped. But it's only been two and a half weeks now. I have noticed gums growing back where the gum graft has yet to be done, by using coconut oil with turmeric and clove powder mixed into it. I pull it through my teeth and gums for fifteen minutes every day. I had my first check up a week after surgery, which was four days ago. They said it was healing very nicely. I go for a cleaning in two weeks. I am not happy with where the gums are right now, but your video does give me some hope that they will grow back more than they have. Thank you for that! I also use an electric toothbrush (before surgery and I will go back to that after the prescribed month using a manual brush). The Oral-B battery-operated toothbrush is not expensive. I got it on Amazon. Not sure who your commercial outlet is for such items, but here I can also find it at Walmart. Oh, and now I also use cotton swabs with tea tree oil and neem oil that I mix together in a small vial. I rub it into my gums, front and back, before brushing, which I do with baking soda and a fluoride free toothpaste. I use one that has turmeric in it and coconut oil. The other toothpaste I use is a "prebiotic" toothpaste. I get them at my local health food store. I also floss after I pull the coconut oil through my teeth, which I do after brushing. I think this is why they are healing faster, and I agree with you that you must make your own discernments concerning the dentist's advice, because their recommendations are based on their profit margins. Again, thank you. You have put my mind at some ease! :)

Good on you. Makeup is so expensive and you only need a few things to look great. Just be aware of the expiry periods for different products. You can risk serious damage to your eyes if you expired products or use them beyond the recommended time after opening. I think that it is only 3 months for mascara etc.

I was awake during my graft and had 9 teeth on the bottom done. The periodontist had to give me extra local anesthetic because it started wearing off and was painful. I am only a few days short of week 2 and hoping all my stitches will be removed at my follow up appointment. I got this done when I was older (68), but I've probably had some recession for years.
@107judy2 жыл бұрын
Wow, that is a lot of money for cleanings. Have you gone to your regular dentist for cleanings?

Thank you for sharing your healing journey. I had gum grafting about 10 days ago over my entire lower gums except for a couple teeth where I have a crown. I did not have the hole in the roof of my mouth because of the extensive grafting but I had to go a steroid dose pack for 3 days after the donor tissue tissue was grafted so I did not have the issue with the plaster. Since most of the lower gums were grafted, I cannot chew at all until my sutures are removed on day 14, but I like your idea of the soft soggy bread in soup, which I haven't tried yet. Hoping that you continued to heal, and I would love to hear your experience when the stitches were removed and how that has changed things.
