good stuff, thank you for the education. I am going this route! Will be contacting for recommended setup

Sounds like a good product, and should you just want/need a couple of vents it’s doable for most. But a whole house, not so much. You’ll end up spending thousands and should the company not survive……. Ouch!

Pucks seem to be too expensive for working only as a temperature sensor.
@madjad16124 ай бұрын
Seems to be now compatable with smart sensor from the likes of ecobee

It works when ecobee and Honeywell sensors
@tychay21 күн бұрын
I think the reason they're expensive is they also allow setting temperature through the puck in addition to sensing. My thinking is i'd you have an ecobee system, you should use their smart sensors instead in rooms where people don't need manual control over the room temperature.

Putting together a video distro project for a church. I was wondering, will the Unifi Building to Building Bridge and unifi switches carry the packets through? The church has two structures and they want to avoid running trench lines. Great Video. Thanks!

Are you calling the access control card reader the PDK button or the PDK panel?
@blackwiredesigns3 жыл бұрын
The PDK "button" is a reference to something on the Control4 side of things. It is a graphical button that is generated on their interface. The integration does also support the button on some of the PDK readers as a programming event.

*_Love it!>>>_**_t.co/lo9oxS9u5V_**_ However, I gave it to my bf, since it was not compatible with carrier brand heater/AC unit. Carrier made their units not compatible with the Ecobee or anything else like this. Carrier made it where you have to purchase there’s. If you have a Carrier unit. Save yourself the disappointment not being able to use the Ecobee._*

@carl313313 Oh if you wanted to know (ignore if not XD): HUB's forward all frames out of every port simultaneously and do not keep a record of where a device is located. Switch's use ARP to record what device address is located on which port, and then directs individual frames with that destination address only out of a particular port.
@LtShifty13 жыл бұрын
@carl313313 A switch will send a frame out of all ports in the same way a HUB will if a broadcast frame is transmitted. The reason I asked is because many of these "Home LAN" applications just use a broadcast to communicate, and it does saturate the network (Can be avoided with VLAN's if you have the correct equipment.) Thanks for the 1Gb/s LAN tip :). I run 10Gb/s around most of my home so I should be set to go once I get a bit of cash together (Study costs eating all my money :( )

Is this a broadcast technology or is it full layer 3 TCP/IP? Also what network speed is required for full 1080p?

What sort of cost do these units come with?
@blackwiredesigns14 жыл бұрын
ollylewin. That is incorrect. If you only had a few tvs and wanted instant switching on every tv all the time you would need 1 extra receiver per SOURCE. How ever in a larger project that has a bunch of tvs active you will still see the instant switching that there is now. If you are seeing 10-30 seconds switch time on a system you have other issues that need to be resolved.
@ollylewin14 жыл бұрын
Without being the one who soured the cream this video is misleading. I install these and Im on v1.2 at present and see switch times of anything between 10 and 30 seconds!! The only way to achieve what you see here is to have two rx units per display and switch between them. Not quite what we all wanted but close.

couple questions. 1. does this system have 2 way communications? ie, tell the thermostat to go to 22 and it tells you when its at 22? 2. does Control4 do security camera view and control as well? 3. Will there be other videos created showing other features aside from the music and hometheatre control? thanx

Hey jason. The wakeup function will be added to the iPad app in about 20-30 days. The wakeup agent is control4s version of an alarm clock.

the Receiver has an IR receiver in it and an emitter port in the transmitter so if you pointed the remote at the receiver it would emit the signal at the source.
