Guys…this incarnation of Penguin really puts him more on par with the heavier hitters in Batman’s rogues gallery. He’s always been more of a B list villain…until now! The last thing I want to say is: why aren’t people speculating on Long Halloween now, first appearances of Sophia Gigante??? Is it because this is t a movie, or because it’s not a MARVEL movie. I think a lil bit of both. Crazy to me how Marvel owns 90% of hearts and minds.

Interesting take on Christopher Nolan’s vision of Gotham, I’ve never thought of it that way. I think his Gotham had an overwhelmingly dark tone throughout the trilogy without it being literally “dark” or nighttime the entire time. I think he hit the nail on the head representing Gotham as if it were a real city without diverting from the darkness of Batman in general. But tbh the Dark Knight is ranked as one of the best films ever by the critics as well as in my heart, so I’m biased lol. Love the pod!

haha! Man GSXM1 I don’t understand at all. The cover isn’t good, Storm carries the first appearances (the rest are ehh, if they were split up those books wouldn’t have a demand, except storm) & theres soooo many on the census. And if I’m honest with Hulk 181, I’m just jealous cause I want it but I can’t justify the price 😂 it has a huge census, there’s never not a time where you can’t buy one & from low to high grade it’s priceyyyy, there’s not really an affordable price point for that book. Not to mention it’s not Wolverine’s 1st app I’m team 180 (but I agree 181 is far and away the better cover)

Always gotta love that FF #5! I honestly think that the most overpriced comic is by far Hulk #181. I believe that Wolverine as a character is only popular right now because of the Deadpool + Wolverine movie. It wasn’t a nearly as talked about book as it was when the trailers started coming out for the movie.

You must be like 15 years old with no knowledge of comic history! You can research and see that Hulk 181 has been a HOT book for a long time, before any superhero movies. It was the textbook example of a book that soared in value due solely to the popularity of the character from the comics themselves, before speculation based on movies, despite the volume of books in existence (demand much > supply).

@@uFELLA Yes, Hulk 181 was still a very talked about book before the movie. But with the movie, his whole redemption arc and that awesome comic accurate costume really skyrocketed the books popularity even more!

While I don’t agree with the FMV of Hulk 181 I think it’s one of the few marvel books that’s not impacted by the MCU in the long term. I think a horrible Wolverine movie could come out and it wouldn’t affect 181 at all. If an incredible Wolverine movie came out I’d say it would give it a short term bump bc FOMO is a real thing but generally it’s existing in its own realm above MCU influence

That’s also awful about the Knull Sony thing Neal Adams spoke about how when Havoc made is on screen debut he didn’t get paid for it It must depend on the contract Ethan Van Sciver gets paid by DC like when the Red Lantern was in the injustice Videogames or when they use iron heights prison in the Flash show And more recently he got paid because X-men 97 used a character he created Dan Slott makes a lot of 1st appearances but marvel probably pays him Most creators leave and create things like Ghost Machine because Marvel or DC now owns your ideas and it’s up to them if they want to credit you Jason Aaron was a consultant on Thor 4 he’s in the movie credits as one so I’m very surprised Cates and Stegman weren’t involved in any way

He’s got that really famous Stephanie Brown Batgirl cover but he’s got some New 52 Barbra Batgirl that are absolutely incredible Ya the Get Woke go Broke crowd hate Agatha for the worst reason’s I’ve found it best to just enjoy the show or movie I’ve seen so many people say they’ve missed good things because they were fed a negative opinion before a show or movie released and just never watched something And that’s not healthy for creativity and art

I have 5 books from the bend-gate. All low end current books so I am not super mad. But I did indeed just spend full market CGC price on a CBCS Something is killing the children #1 Frison. Why? Because I want a beautiful 9.8 of that book and to be honest I think CGC is way overhyped by rich collectors and CBCS cases are actually better, I my personal opinion. Both my neighbor and I have now switched to CBCS. Y'all can keep the overpriced CGC stuff.

Why do ppl sleep on Pinocchio's in BK ? That lady is a 💎! I used to make the trek from The Heights. I found that guy who handed Gus the phone in the beginning to be somewhat unpleasant . Kind of a prick and was always swearing and saying lame stuff. I get it, it's NYC, but he never said anything or asked if you were looking for anything. I didn't even know they kept big keys in the back and behind the counter until way long after I went there! Had I of know I'd have bought a lot more stuff .
