😂😢😮 I think this is one of the best episodes they did with Jackie Gleason boy. He used to make big money. I felt sorry for the other three boy. They hardly made nothing when they did an episode but it was still good in those days. I guess I still watch this once in awhile to get a laugh out of it. It is funny. Thank you. They don't make comedy shows like this no more.

After watching Honeymooners at midnight recently a show The Phil Servers show came on after - Immedeitly notice George Matthews (Harvey) was in the episode and portrayed the same tough guy roll as an Army lieutenant. Harvey roll was so iconic was even used in a Jerky Boys sketch in the 1990s, - 40 years later & was immediately recognized from this episode!

@@31331633 old post. Only left it up because the number of hits. The Mets had an absolutely amazing pitcher, Matt Harvey, at the time and the Yanks were going to be playing them in a subway series. It wasn’t that he came in as a phenomenal rookie and the batters figured him out, he wound up having surgery and that was pretty much the end of his invincibility. The only reason I leave it up there is because I never got this many hits on any videos I’ve ever posted and I am surprised people still look at it. It’s also one of the many funniest moments of the honeymooners

@@31331633 One more funny thing, I can’t remember his name but one of the guys on WFAN who are used to be pretty funny wound up playing this part of the honeymooners episode bring Harvey out here. I don’t know if he saw this or he just made the same connection.

@taxisteve929 are you still in NJ? I saw a tremendous Tommy show this past weekend, nicely orchestrated with a 12-piece band but still rocking hard enough that the refreshment counter at the venue sold earplugs along with snacks and drinks!

Dennis Diken channels some Keith Moon with those fills! The drumming creates the spine and counterweights the "ha ha ha" backing vocals to make this a great cover.

Great covers so far, and it's renewing my appreciation for the writing of Tommy. I've been listening to it since I was about 8 or 9 years old, so basically a half century, and it's entered that realm of the Beatles and other classic rock you've heard so many times you kinda take it for granted and can't hear the wood for the trees. Hearing these great covers highlights just what brilliant songs they are (and I say that as someone who thinks Quadrophenia is easily the Who's best work).
