Iowa is underrated. Extremely friendly culture and fairly low cost of living/housing, even in places that seem to have a decent economy. I had never been prior to working as a longhaul truck driver and now it's on a short list of states I could see myself buying a home and moving to If you can deal with cold/windy winters and a lack of trees, Iowa and Nebraska are fantastic states

This needs more study. How many are living in rural areas because they are still living with their parents and can’t afford to move to the cities as has been the trend for decades. Also what opportunities?

My mom and dad live in Chisholm. They met and started their beautiful journey together in the 70’s. They moved to Cali for 30 years and moved back in the 2000’s. I’ve been summering there and spending Christmases there since a child. I’m still in Cali but I would move there in a hot second if I could. 💕 I absolutely LOVE visiting them there in Chisholm. My kiddos love it. There is a kindness there not seen in Cali. Chisholm people, appreciate what you have! The beauty and calm is real!

I think Bowman, N.D. would make a great town for this series. It's basically a self-sufficient island at least 80 miles from anything, and it has a lot of stories of younger families who either stayed or moved back and did good things there.

Yeah I grew up in rugby and I agree with Nate he was actually two classes above me if I am correct and I liked it too I just wished you talked to more people from the community like I loved Kevin as a teacher for 3 separate class and had to put up with him as a football coach 😂 and I was a class clown a bit too so he probably remembers the extra stress of our antics 😂 but I just wished talked to more people from the community it was a 20 min video and all learned was everything I knew about Kevin already 😂 like our band Kari Hill still works there and I don’t think the music program at rugby was ever as good until she came along it was like game changing good. We have a crazy gymnasium that I ever seen and they’ve updated it since I’ve seen it last 😂 The point is there just even more cool stuff I wished you would have touched on but besides that it was great but also sad you didn’t touch on the geographic center of north of America 😂

Thank you Cory for coming to Rugby. You chose a great panel from Rugby to give an inside look at this town. Kevin was a great teacher that gave me a push to toward my passion of video production! Ashley and Erik are great examples of this towns entrepreneurship as well! My only criticism I have on your content is its pacing. I get it is your story Cory, but your cuts to your commentary, from the main story, are jarring. I think you are amazing at getting an engaging video, your news background shows so well in this piece, but the cuts to you in the studio remove the viewer from the over arching story. I know you are in your first season and working out the kinks, but I think this thing could go so much further with a different style of editing. My personal opinion is that you need to remove yourself a little more. Everything is there, but having you pop up on screen every 7 seconds to quip, is slowing down the message. Use your teams BROLL more, and just use VO to continue the whole experience. This will let viewers remember who the story is about. I am no expert, but this is just my view, I am hoping it comes across as constructive and in no way critical. I love this content and hope to see more! Thank you for choosing my home town for your project! Keep telling these small town stories and wish you nothing but sucess, coming from a new subscriber!
