@@bjork12Thank you so much for reading in the first place. This was definitely a crime that has shaken minds and has been masterfully brought back to light. Incredible actors, performances that leave a mark. At first, there is a barely hinted sense of normality, of serenity. And then, a sudden rupture that shocks, followed by confessions, stories, and testimonies that make you shudder and feel sick to your stomach, to the point that you need to take some time to decide whether to continue, that necessary time to let your ears and heart rest. What you hear is serious, heavy, shocking. And then, suddenly, the cards on the table change. Everything flips, and you glimpse another truth, completely different, and yet it continues to disturb. Nobody should have the right to judge as reality, whatever it is, hurts so hard that leaves speechless.

@Larettadude
@Larettadude 3 ай бұрын
@@bjork12 However, if you think of the very last scene, it's just like the director wanted to show all misunderstandings in such a dysfunctional family. If you compare the series to the documentary recently released, I've got the feeling that for him and Ian Brennan, despite the suffering and horrific traumas, the brothers had all the cultural, social, and economic tools to make a different choice. They should have, in relation to their desired existential and sexual autonomy (especially Erik, who is portrayed in the series as homosexual), opted for an alternative to murdering their parents. On the other hand, Hartmann sees them more as individuals crushed not only by an ‘ogre’ father but also by a sexist and macho society that had conditioned them since birth. This, at least, is my interpretation when reflecting on the choices made in the series and the documentary. Murphy and Brennan hold the individual responsible. Hartmann confirms that the historical and social context outweighs our individuality.
