He gets the Prophet Bird beautifully. So often played (often very well!) as a weird Chopin. It's literal and a nice stately Blackbird song! Ego has to take a back seat to the composer and his ear and respect for nature. Of course Schumann could have heard a Starling mimic his own playing, those birds have a great way of poking fun at our hubris and contraptions.

One of the reason I give up to attend live concert is that: people coughing non Stop😡 instead to restrict until death!😈 Its a minimum when we are lucky to hear such great artist Alive!😊

He's very good, but S. Lemeshev is outstanding, especially his timbre, squillo and legato!

Maybe the musician with the most musical sensibility I’ve ever heard. Tempo, cadence… the melody just floats in a bed of harmony

Thank you for this treasure. It is a miracle that the voice and the expression of such a pedagogue and an artist travels through years. Thank you for making it possible !

I have this record on LP from Melodija. Karl Richter is on harpsichord. Also in love with it from my childhood, but I believe there is genuine ingeniousness in this composition and performance.

This seems so sensitive to the musical conceptions of this composition as to be timeless. I have never heard a more furious, uncompromising third movement from any pianist. A key aspect of what makes this tarantella movement effective is that the rhythm is steady and crisp.

completely agreed! I love this concerto since many years and heard most of the existing recordings (Gilels, Rubinstein, Entremont etc.) and e.g. the tricky passage from 21:40 he plays perfect, only Jeanne-Marie Darré played it equally good. She by the way played as young girl for Saint-Saëns himself and 1926 aged 21 she played all five Saint-Saëns Piano Concertos in a single concert with the Paris Lamoureux orchestra and later in the fifties recorded all the five concertos: kzbin.info/www/bejne/iaLGqqiVl6anqsU - (first is concerto No.2 and the before mentioned passage starts at 21:50).

Oh! this is the very first time to listen to Thibaud Vitali Chaconne. I was veryvery astonished at his so clear bowing articulation. Might be next to Jascha Heifetz! And his fresh interpretation about various styles of Chaconne variety are so graceful and impressible. Anyway, I'm sorry I would recently feel there are not bowing articulation as like as him. Now a days, Heifetz, Elman, Kreisler and Thibaud bowing articulations have fade away so far. (92yrs.Japanese) sorry strange English.
