Why don't they include the 5 coordinating cardstock colors shown instead of kraft paper, especially considering how expensive? I ordered one for the first <and maybe last> time thinking everything was included...
@lifeandwhimsycreations29646 күн бұрын
I honestly don’t know! I actually tried to work with this box this month and had a really hard time. I saw they just released secret box 4 but I think I will pass this time. also in case you didn’t know, sometimes they include border maker cartridges and you need the border maker system to use it. There’s a spoiler you can read in the product description that indicates what is in the box without giving away the theme. Definitely check that out if out buy again and don’t have a border marker cartridge system. I hope you’re able to enjoy your box! I loved the colours just not all the icons.

The brushed workshop probably goes with the brushed paper you got. Angel policy would be good for cardmakers to make a banner for small sentiments. You got a great deal.

for the red rubber with no foam you need to get some stamp mounting material. If they have foam they will just cling onto a block. The little stampin up tag punch is cute and you'll probably get a lot of use out of it. I think the metal screw things were album posts but I didn't get a close look at them.

Thank you, I still haven’t tried to use all of them yet. It’s been fun to explore some of the older products. I really think there are some great gems in there!

If you like the wooden block stamp image you can take the rubber off and make them into cling stamps; look for videos on how to do this. Save tons of space!

You're pages are great! Have you tried "gutting" paper that fall behind your pictures? This saves your paper to use for other projects and also helps cut down on the bulk of your pages.
@lifeandwhimsycreations29643 ай бұрын
I didn’t think to do that here! I usually do that when I love the paper and want to conserve it but I didn’t think about the bulk. Good idea for next time! That dollarama paper is thick!!

SU can definitely be a bit more pricey than Hobby Lobby. Now that they have bought CM, I see their items when I am ordering, which happened this morning. 😂There are a few things I’d like to have too, but can’t really justify spending the $. Summer break kit is just so pretty!
@lifeandwhimsycreations29643 ай бұрын
SU bought part of Close to my heart when they decided to close. Creative Memories is independent. I’ve been buying from Creative Memories because I’m trying to decide if so should stay with Stampin Up or not. My biggest challenge is I don’t live very close to a scrapbook store and in Canada my online options are limited. I’m considering switching to Creative Memories because it’s more affordable and no minimums. Do you buy from either of them? I’ve only been ordering from them for 2 or 3 months so I don’t know them well yet.

@@lifeandwhimsycreations2964 Oh Oh Oh. Yes, you’re right. got the two mixed up. I’ve never really purchased from either. I have been getting Paper Pumpkin for a couple of years. I stopped last year for about 4 months because I was having postal issues in my area of California (mail boxes getting Broken into and boxes not arriving at all). I started up again in February. PP forces me to make cards. 🙃

You are wise to not run out & buy everything before you need it. If you opt to go to IKEA, may I encourage you to look for drawers other than the Alex ones? They don’t pull out all the way, which can become a nuisance. Maybe look for other options while you wait. 😊

Yes! One day I would love to upgrade to proper drawers! The plastic ones I inherited from the kids toy storage.

135 to 140 with or without the discount (as a hobbyist)?
@lifeandwhimsycreations29644 ай бұрын
It’s before discount, and does not include shipping and taxes. But they don’t calculate it dollar for dollar they call it CSV. Recently I ordered $134 of products and had a CSV of $104 from that order. After my discount, tax and shipping it cost me $114 CDN. It basically negates tax and shipping so the discount is good! It’s just the commitment is steep for me and my budget.

CM has the best tools!
@lifeandwhimsycreations29644 ай бұрын
Hi again! I’m curious what your favourite tool is? I only have the border maker punch. I just started using punches within the past 2 months! I’m debating on getting some of the circle cutters but not sure how useful they are… I will definitely be using CM to organize more! I have big plans for my office!
@karencooper27034 ай бұрын
You are starting well. A quality trimmer and scissors are a must. Plus keeping your project together in your plastic pockets are a good idea CM make nice project keepers. A lot of things are just a trial and error situation.
@lifeandwhimsycreations29644 ай бұрын
I agree! I needed to keep things together because I work on projects in little bits at a time. I rarely have time to start and finish one in one sitting :) it’s really helped to invest in organizing my supplies

I joined Stampin up for the same reasons you did. I scrapbook but also make cards to donate.I was just falling in love with CTMHS when they closed. CTMH had the best paper in the world. Yes the mix ins were great. Hoping Stampin up follows their lead. I am a hobbyist too so just keeping a list to keep my options open. Great video.
@lifeandwhimsycreations29644 ай бұрын
I was with CTMH for just about a year before they closed. I really enjoyed them and I hope SU comes out with workshop kits like CTMH had. For now, I’m taking the opportunity to try new products from different places and try SU core products. I think SU will release workshop kits in September so it really depends on the price of them. And then I have to decide if I stay with SU as a demonstrator or just remain a good customer.
@AnikaMuller-ky5pr5 ай бұрын
I agree… I don‘t buy stampsets every month for the same reason. But the paper and the coordinating inks and cardstocks are affordable i think. I hope that Stampin Up! will offer more stickers or diecuts in future for scrapbooking! Greetings from Germany!

So far I have been impressed with their papers and colours! I saw in a video they put out that they hire real artists to watercolour the backgrounds and flowers of their papers. I love that! The paper seems worth it so far 😊I hope you enjoy being a hobby maker!

I feel the same way to pricey for me. We have the same budget a month for new crafty supplies. Lol I’m waiting to see the new scrapbooking products too. I did purchase the CTMH white cardstock and a few clearance items from SU this month. I’m really going to miss that cardstock. I will purchase it every month until it’s gone. 😢 tfs and looking forward to your scrapbooking videos.🙂
@lifeandwhimsycreations29645 ай бұрын
I’m hoping they come out with workshop kits in a similar price point as CTMH had 🤞 I am also hoping they offer a scrapbook paper pumpkin because that would be amazing!
