"DO NOT" buy a Yamaha KT100. Pretty much nobody runs them anymore, anywhere. Lo206 is the package to run. It is by far the most popular class almost everywhere. It's also the cheapest to buy and maintain. And most tracks will have a spec tire rule as well. Someone with zero karting experience will be completely lost trying to run a IAME KA100. They are much more expensive to buy, race and maintain. And much harder to drive, fast. If you're a newbie. Try to buy a complete, race ready package from someone who knows what they are doing and consistently ran up front in their class. There will be lots of junk for sale. Go to a race, talk to the guys who run up front. Most will be glad to help you.

I ran Saber with 75-1 ratio with good luck; a lot less smell and smoke. I was given a case of Stihl oil, so I'm now using that instead. (There is definitely more smoke and smell) Many people do run their equipment with 100-1 with no problems. Dolmar saw also sells oil with a recommended 100-1. The price difference between brands is less than a coffee drink at Starbucks.

Looks like your return pump went out. Happened to me. Also, save the pain of cranking the engine to fill the bowl and you can take the breather tube from the gas tank and blow in to it to pressurize the system and that will fill the bowl.

Turns out the return pump was just pumping backwards. We switch the tubes and got her going. Thanks for the advice though.

Hello from Oamaru New Zealand. O.k a question. I have many 1950's to 1960's n 70's vintage chainsaws like Homelite Zip, Ez, McCulloch 1950 era saws. Now these on the manual states some insane amount of oil Can I run Amsoil Sabre at 100-1 or do I need Dominator?. What ratios do you suggest?. Carl.
@midliferacingcrisis2 жыл бұрын
So sorry for the delay. I suggest using Dominator for any 2 Cycle racing application.
@TheCeki19822 жыл бұрын
Interceptor or Dominator at 2 percent. Never run a chainsaw lower than 2 percent. Saber has a lower flashing point. I only run Amsoil, it's superior.

@@midliferacingcrisis since my return to karting I found a pre 90' Coyote Bullet. I put a Briggs Animal on it and run in the Senior Animal Master class (60) and up. Most of the guys run the newer chassis that are wider with more adjustments. My latest finds are a second gen (96) Genesis, and a 09' Coyote XP. I race at Genesee Valley Kart Club (GVKC, Road course) in Avon New York. my plan is to use the Bullet as a show kart promote kart racing in my area. I'd like to put a Yamaha KT100 on the Genesis and run that in the vintage class, and the XP will be my main race kart in the Masters class. AND all this just started as " I'm just going to have fun nothing serious" Oh it's still fun! but that competitive bug bites.... lol. Best thing i ever did was getting back into karting, should've done it years ago. Congrats on your new car and wish you luck on your new endeavor.

This might void the warranty on a new engine, but once the warranty expires, the engine will be bedded in enough, to handle the thinner mixture. An old engine is less likely to have a problem with reduced oil in the fuel, then and newer one.

TJ, just as preventative, rebuild the calipers with new seals. The caliper being rubbed on one spot happens a lot when the rotor is no longer true and it can cause a rub when the chassis flexes. Fixing all of those things still will result in brake performance that you aren’t still super happy with. Arrow/karttech makes a red brake pad that is softer than the standard black pads and it is a huge upgrade that I’m confident you’d be happy with
@midliferacingcrisis4 жыл бұрын
