Does anyone know the version name for 4:00 - 4:38? That is the one I’m most familiar with and I can not find that version as a 'single' anywhere on KZbin or iTunes. Like these many unfamiliar versions of Adon Olam I have just heard, there are so many versions of Leca DODI and it has taken ages to find the exact version (Askenazi) that I love and know. It is kind of comforting to have access to those nostalgic reminders of one’s own shabbos familiarities. I almost began to find it almost unsettling that there are so many versions of these, even covers versions, and I still couldn’t find something familiar despite there being clearly some popular versions of some about! I had given up hope, not quite anxiety producing though! LOL

Right! It's wild and incredible the amount of different Adon Olam settings. The specific one at 4:00 I dont think it has a name, but it is certainly a very British setting/version. I would not be surprised if it uses the tune of a traditional British march, or perhaps it is just in the style of that.

Adon olam, asher malach, b'terem kol y'tzir nivra. L'et na'asah v'cheftzo kol, azai melech sh'mo nikra. V'acharey kichlot hakol, l'vado yimloch nora. V'hu haya, v'hu hoveh, v'hu yih'yeh b'tifara. B'yado afkid ruchi b'et ishan v'a'irah. V'im ruchi g'viyati, Adonai li v'lo ira The Lord of the universe who reigned before anything was created. When all was made by his will He was acknowledged as King. And when all shall end He still all alone shall reign. He was, He is, and He shall be in glory. And He is one, and there's no other, to compare or join Him. Without beginning, without end and to Him belongs diminion and power. And He is my G-d, my living G-d. to Him I flee in time of grief, and He is my miracle and my refuge, who answers the day I shall call. To Him I commit my spirit, in the time of sleep and awakening, even if my spirit leaves, G-d is with me, I shall not fear.

@reachmejason The last tune is called the 'San Francisco Adon Olam'. It was composed by Dov Frimer who also wrote the popular tune for Al Hannisim a snippit of which is included in the new showreel video you can see on our channel. The second to last tune is 'trad' i.e. no one knows who wrote it :)

Shalom. I'm Japanese. I've heard the first version of this song at a synagogue in Tokyo, Japan. Also, I've seen the same melody in the Shabbat service scene of Neil Diamond's movie "Jazz Singer" . It's my favorite version. Will someone tell me useful alias of this version to distinguish it from other variants?

@aarandir Beautiful singing by the way, I particularly like the 'pop' treatment of Adon Olam.

God it is really getting on my nerves now. I absolutely hate it hate it hate it when people start clapping before a piece of music is completely over. Then to rub salt into the wound, people start wooing in a crass manner. I'm only 22 and I sound like an old curmudgeon. Lol
