I love how Mike would sign his signature with a star that would then cross the "T" in "Starr." Very creative! It's interesting that all of the guys were very driven to succeed, but i think after Jerry, Mike knew the importance of pushing things beyond the limits, and wasn't afraid to go there with his bass playing, which helped give AIC their signature sound. Both he and Jerry (and Sean, too, I'm sure) wanted to keep perfecting the band's sound; after all, AIC was their career. However, Layne, as talented as he was, seemed much more easily distracted, and he was obviously bored (I'm guessing you can only sing your hits so many 100s of times before it drives you nuts), so he veered off into doing Mad Season for a change of pace. It's just so sad that Mike self-sabotaged himself out of his role in one of the biggest bands on earth. I mean...how do you even recover from that? Obviously, he didn't. 💔 Ugh. Such a painful story, this band.

Was that EDDIE VAN HALEN talking with Jerry? I think it is! AIC toured with Van Halen during 1991. Anyone?
