Wow, I’m not sure how long I’ve been following you, but you always come to mind when I think of Singapore influencers! I’m honestly surprised when people don’t recognize the name "Mongabong"-it’s such a familiar name to me! I even joke with my BFF, who is called Sarah too -same same, but different! Haha. Adulting does take away some of life’s simple joys, to me, it’s important to carve out some “me-time.” What helped me was journaling my thoughts, especially when I’m feeling a little dull (quickly catch it and recalibrate) -it really gives me the space to clear my mind, reset and refocus on what truly matters ✝

And time flew by so fast, watched you got engaged, got married, renovate your home and started team mongabong videos, announcing your pregnancy 🥹 and attending your events, and looking forward to your videos every sunday 8pm. Its so surreal!!! Thanks for sharing with us your life journey, beauty and lifestyle tips thru the years. But for the first time i’d like to recommend journalling to help better fjnd ourselves and build our life goals on. I find that it helps us to review our time esp when we do so regularly and at the end of the year we look back, wow these are the things we have done, have been grateful for it keeps us going and pursuing our purpose in life. I hope you could give it a try, start by doing it yourself and then with Matt too so your can share each other’s monthly / yearly review. It also helps to understand each other better as you move on to different phases / seasons in life together.

But one thing for sure is that I have always looked forward to your best of skincare and makeup videos. I find myself sharing your recommendations with my mum, sister and girlfriends. Every time, I end up saying, "Oh, it’s in Mongabong best-of video!" Hahaha! Like you, I have sensitive skin so I trust your suggestions completely and have been following your advice for years. It’s like every time I watch your videos, something new gets added to my cart. Oops! I am not only a fan of your makeup and skincare recommendations but also your fashion collabs like clothes and shoes! I know life can sometimes feel overwhelming and I relate to your recent struggles. 2024 was a tough year for me as well, there were many things I had to un-learn and re-learn, so much so that even people around me started to notice and express concern. My boss bought me a book and there were a couple of quotes that really resonated with me: "tears fall for a reason and they are your strength, not weakness“ and "sometimes, just getting up and carrying on is brave and magnificent". Often, the hardest person to forgive is ourselves. We tend to be so hard on ourselves and at times, find it difficult to reach out for help. But sometimes, we need that reminder that it is okay to seek support when we need it. I just wanted to send you a note of encouragement that it is okay to take the time to reconnect with the part of yourself that may feel a little lost right now. I am wishing you the best for 2025. For example I used to hang out a lot w these friends and exercise before my accident, so I try to do them now as well~ it really brings me back to how I used to feel (even though it’s ofc not gonna be the same, like I’m weaker now definitely but just the feeling 🥰)

Have been following you since the collab with Lovet (I honestly don’t remember when it was) - started because I enjoyed the designs and you sharing your thought process on how you came with them, then stayed on because I enjoyed the advice and tips you gave from travel to skincare and makeup. Feeling lost is a natural milestone in adulthood (it happens to the best of us) and it takes time to rediscover ourselves. My only advice is to be patient and compassionate with yourself - we are sometimes our own hardest critic. Be patient and open to new adventures. Reflect and consider what energises you - just because you’ve been doing something for so long doesn’t mean you need to continue doing it. And believe that you can make that change, no matter how painful it gets. Jiayous!! 🎉
