Tbh it makes sense to me just bc this is kickoff which is basically a tournament. The 4 teams that made champs last year just get a bye. It's as simple as that. If you want it you gotta fight for it 🤷🏾 also if a team is better/improved it shouldnt even matter

How else are you supposed to do it? Pick names out of a hat so there’s a chance the 2 best teams face off immediately and one gets eliminated even though that one is better than the others remaining?

Isn’t playing one more match beneficial? We’ve seen pretty much every team that played their first match struggle at least on the first map. Since there is a lower bracket I don’t think it’s unfair to give them a 1st round bye. If at all it’s more of a disadvantage if I’m looking at all the brackets lol

IT LITERALLY HAPPENED LAST YEAR. plus it literally does NOT matter. if sentinels lose one, its the same as if 100t lose one. the only difference is that 100t needs to win one more game to qualify for the event, but like if they good enough to do it with the seeding, they would be good enough to win one more game. its not like they have to win a ton more matches. they wouldnt make it in the first place if they sucked

@@joshuapeek9555 except that the loser of the 2nd match goes to the same first match of the losers bracket. It doesnt really matter if you win the first match and lose the second or just lose the first one, you still go to the same lower bracket match as losing the first. Having to play 2 matches is worse sure because if you win and lose, the first one was for nothing, but thats just the way that vct is structured. Also since kickoff is considered a "tournament" of itself, they wont change it because it's not a preliminary to an event, it is an event.

@ It doesnt 😭😭😭. The only thing that matters are the antistratting, but i assure you that none of the ppl complaining is thinking of that. In terms of winning, it does nothing. Lets just use kru as an example. They lost to loud. If they had not gotten the seeding from last year, same exact results. Lets just say loud and kru swapped places, and kru had to go against eg first round. Even if they lost, its the same as if they had the seeding losing in the second round. Thats what balances it out. If you dont win your first match, your seeding does nothing. The only downside to worse seeding is that you need to win two matches, otherwise your first win was useless. But all that means is that they need to win one more. If they were really better, they shouldve won regardless. It was clear that of the winners, which one looked brtter than their opponent, in which they all did EXCEPT 100t vs sentinels, because that match was actually really close
