Saw him at Olympia in Dublin on the 81 tour.Been a fan ever since.A wonderful genius.

Great video from my favourite artist of all time. But the 3rd song is not 'Til the Money Runs Out.' It's 'Pasties and a G-string.' The last song, labelled 'Mathilda' is actually 'Tom Traubert's Blues,' (one of his greatest!)

Damn. Must have been in the air then. A few months before this performance my high school mate and I threw down the most abstract maniacal poetry we could come up with, pounded at a recoiling upright with ferocity, screeching to the limits of our falsettos, etc etc. Tom, our spirit animal, though we didn't know him at the time.

I experienced a show of that tour in NZ 1981/82 it was a mind-blowing experience, unforgettable. And the saxophone oozed the bluesiest lines.

He looks so young. I saw him in Sydney, got given a ticket for my birthday. Best present ever. he had base and sax with him.

Saw Tom Waits perform around this time at the Danforth Music Hall in Toronto. Had the same hat and the same commitment to smoking cigarettes throughout the show. Might have been the same tour. Just amazing to hear him live. Caught two more shows from him after that including the Franks Wild Years show at Massey Hall. Absolute musical genius.

Second last piece is etincelles by Moszkovsky. Horowitz used to play this as well as an encore.

Typical POP audience. They don't seem to know a sonata mostly contains 3 or four movements. This results in clapping after each movement. Very annoying for this great artist.

The Absolutely Greatest Poet, Singer, Actor of the gone century. Hopefully His Kind of Culture and Art will continue and help us to survive the next may be hard decades for mankind. Tom W. you did all to help us away!
