What type of respirator is that? That respirator sucks use an ppe or a gas mask dude your children are standing right near you you should’ve told them to leave the house until done so no airborne particulates in-specify into there lungs just don’t do what he is doing there is probably dust on the ground so you have to clean it after the test there are many reasons why people die of this fibre every year so don’t replicate what he is doing it unless your using a real respirator not a off brand ppe!

This video should be called: “How NOT to test for asbestos” 1. No control measures 2. No disposable overalls 3. Mask wasn’t fitted right 4. Guessing the mask has the wrong filter on it anyway given all the other issues 5. Wife filming in the same area wearing no PPE 6. Didn’t seal the sample point afterwards 7. Left dust & debris on the floor below sample point. Anyone watching this and considering doing it themselves, please just pay someone ! - it’s actually not that expensive. 🙄

Hire a company next time dont cheap out! That mask isn't protecting you either. New drywall does not contain asbestos so you're wasting your time collecting a sample from that bottom part that just got replaced.
@dannon20105 жыл бұрын
Yeah...unless you seal that wound, you're creating am area that will produce thousands of airbounre fibers me thinks. It isnt a problem until you start messing with it. Chemo video in 20 years should be good.

I am a CSO, Construction Safety Officer, and a level 2 First Aid Attendant. I am also a Chemical Laboratory Technologist so I have some expertise with this type of sampling. Unfortunately the average person has terrible knowledge of respirator safety. The mask being used is beyond worthless to begin with and hasn't been fitted properly to the face and nose. These masks do not work by magic. Furthermore, the type of mask you are using is probably not even rated N95. An N95 rating means the mask is capable of filtering 95% of particles larger than 0.3 microns along the rotation of its axis. This also means that an N95 mask allows 5% DEATH to pass through. Not recommended. For those who must work around the material you need a half-face respirator with HEPA cartridges. This increases the filtration performance significantly with filtration around 99.95% at the target particle size which again is 0.3 microns. You can purchase both cheaply at any work supply shop. As an added bonus learn how to attach duct tape to the outside of the filters when taking off the mask and how to remove the tape AFTER the mask has been fitted to your face. Remember that HEPA cartridges are contaminated once used and should be considered to be asbestos waste. Keep tape on your filters while the mask is being stored and when you dispose of the filters. Filters kept in this way can be used for weeks. The final point is that here in Canada on average a person inhales 1 million asbestos fibers per year if they have only natural background exposure. Let's not forget that Canada produced tremendous amounts of the stuff and only a few years ago was finally forced to stop selling it to the international market. The town of most note is Asbestos in Quebec. In closing let's try not to be critical of mistakes. The best option is better safety through awareness and training. Now get back to work!! (NB Dec 2020) Asbestos Quebec has decided to change the town's name and I am now a Level 3 OFA. :D

Hi Sean Nanoman, I was lookin g carefully at your reply and this video. I wanted to ask you if organic vapors masks are useful for removing a nail from a wall that most probably contains asbestos in its material. Lets assume yes, do you think a 3M full mask organic vapors cartridge would protect me from it? Is it crazy to think that one hole in the wall could release such amount of fibers that is dangerous to breathe normally in the room? (I think that is way too exagerated, but I hadn't find an answer to it yes, sometimes it seems too much, sometimes it seems like, oh! better be aware, of one tiny hole...) I dunno, please you seem like an informed individual, here I'm seeking for your advice. Thanks in advance, Camila.

Really funny. Towards the end of the hymn, just before the great crescendo, there is a little pause, There and at the end of the piece you can hear the volume "increase", meaning, that the mics of the camera are simply not able to handle the infernal noise this beauty makes^^ Would really love to hear it myself one day, but unfortunately there is a large lake between us ;) Keep up that great work, wish you guys all the best and good luck to restore that intrument back to its former glory!

I'm normally not very moved by most renditions of our national anthem. but this version moves me to tears. America was born out of s struggle and a certain spirit of defiance. To me this organ exemplifies that spirit and what America once was and is crying out to be again.
