I'm halfway through the video, but if the API is making dB queries to return data, why not make individual endpoints to make more specific requests, like getPostTitles instead of getting all posts then extracting titles
@alagbaladamilola27 күн бұрын
Good question, whilst that is a work around, it does not tally with Rest standards and it is not a scalable solution. Bear in mind that the API system will usually not serve mobile clients alone, it’s usually serving other clients as well. I hope that makes sense!
@konan619127 күн бұрын
@@alagbaladamilola yeah it does, I had a close minded approach thinking about serving only one client's specific needs

49:18 You are using mutex incorrectly, the thing is defer executes AFTER FUNCTION scope, not loop/if statement. In my opinion it'll be better to move mutex call in separate function, so that user don't have to access mutex (it should be incapsulated using lower case letter) manually/ Thank you for the video though, it's really inspiring, your efforts are appreciated, looking forward to see more Go content!!! Great work. It all makes sense now. Question: in reality who is the client and who is the server?
@alagbaladamilola4 ай бұрын
In reality, who becomes the client & server basically depends strictly on implementation. There are times where by a bank outsources there card processing to other companies, now those companies will need to communicate with the bank to fetch customer details and perform other transactions, in this case, the bank will have the Server hosted, whilst the third party will have a client that speaks to the Bank’s ISO server. Also note that both of them would have agreed on specifications for building both ISO systems
