I just saw your company featured on Savagegeese. I see why they reached out to you guys. When I'm ready to upgrade/replace my OEM suspension, I will be trying out your product. I really like the idea of keeping the NVH down while increasing performance for a weekend warrior. You even offer a rebuild option to further keep costs down in the future. 👍

It's worth noting that after following these steps, you should ensure you have non-negative preload and install helper springs if necessary.
@AnnexSuspensionGroupАй бұрын
Agreed - and our ClubSpec line of coilovers always come with helper springs as the system is designed with adjustable bump stop height as a feature.
@TM-fx5le5 ай бұрын
So doing it this method, will ensure nothing contacts bodywork at any ride height adjustment?

Yes, for our ClubSpec line of coilovers with helper springs, you should use this method to ensure the wheel and tires don't harm your body work and wheel well.

@AnnexSuspensionGroup4 ай бұрын
What do you mean, our coilovers are high end. JK - yes for any 2 piece coilover system with a separate cup and shock tube with helper springs, you should use the adjustability to dial in the bump stop height for your car.

Great explanation on this subject! Can you complete this excellent video with a final ride height adjustment?
@karstgeo72908 ай бұрын
This is a great video and shows that spring collar adjustment is the way to adjust ride height (what many coilover companies tell folks NOT to do...set preload at xmm and leave it alone) on these adjustable body coilovers, not the body adjustment (what you call "bump stop height" in the video) like many coilover companies DO tell people to do. Great explanation and good finger pointer!

FINALLY a great video to reference on how to properly set "fully threaded" coilovers! So much trash on the market that use preload as a crutch for incorrectly spec'd shock dimensions or spring rates. Thank you!

Thanks for the feedback! Our "FastRoad" coilovers have bump stop height carefully baked in but we agree setting bump stop height for the exact vehicle is the best whenever possible.
@jessehill378010 ай бұрын
I don’t speak for them but I believe what he means is they’re not running as much low speed compression. You can have two shocks with the exact same high speed compression and then raise the low speed compression threshold on one and that will make that shock digressive. The second one is typical for a track car or smooth surfaces where you’re trying to control body roll and only allowing suspension to move once it meets the threshold. Downside is every bump, crack and tar strip in the road that doesn’t meet the threshold is much harsher which is why off-road shocks are typically linear. After having a softer spring rate setup with digressive compression shocks in the past when I went shopping for coilovers on my next vehicle I stayed away from venders selling digressive setups as they just use it as a buzzword since it’s in racing everyone thinks they need it even though their city street are not paved like Leguna secca. So I bought ones with firmer rates and linear curves and been much happier. I don’t think Annex was out when I was shopping but going through their videos they seem more a no BS company and it sounds like he’s eluding to too much digression a bad thing for most applications. It can also lead to problems on the rebound end too on fast ripple bumps as the suspension will pack down and get firmer and firmer through each hit.

Took a tour of their facility when I still drove an 86. Really good products if you want something that lasts and is rebuildable- especially if you live in an area with harsh roads. Be honest with them when your get your suspension setup. They understand people like curvy roads of high elevation. Hopefully they change their mind regarding the RX8, I'd love to have a set over something like HKS or Ohlins.

Great explanation of the characteristics. I found this out the hard way on my MkVGTI track car. Put too high a rate on a divorced set up and had my rear floating all over the place on turns. Went with an outboard coil-over and was able to go with a lower spring rate with more control.

Although you won't be able to see the bump stop you can still remove the spring and check for bump stop engagement by checking when it start to lift the car. Once again - this only applies to our CSPs or other suspension that has a helper spring system.

@TranceFur Жыл бұрын
Why wouldn’t you want to blow off compression pressure during high piston speed events (such as hitting a manhole cover or bridge joints) with your street-focused coilovers? Been considering Annex coilovers, but the KW V3s I currently have are fairly linear, and I’m not exactly satisfied with the way they feel. I can soften up their low speed compression and rebound, but that doesn’t help when they’re still so crashy and harsh over sharp road imperfections.
@chriswebb58212 жыл бұрын
I can vouch, my wife doesn’t mind the ride at all in my integra. Half of my rattles in the car are gone even when in neutral. It’s shocking how much acoustics and vibration a spring transmits. I could feel the texture of the road before because the shocks basically had no damping for small impacts. The annex are not always in motion like cheaper coils. Going from racelands to this, night and day. Honestly too, the racelands weren’t even bad, they just were a bit under valved and some of the materials had some undesirable traits like acoustics mostly. Rides comfier with a stiffer setup now, performs better on corners, literally better in every category.

@3:46 - when bumpstop engages too early and tyres doesn't touch any thing. Is that a bad thing? If bumpstop engages too late (that is not enaged at all) and tyres still doesn't touch anything. Is that a bad thing?
@AnnexSuspensionGroup2 жыл бұрын
Part 1 - Ideally you want to allow for as much compression travel as possible. If the bump stop engages too early you could be severely limiting performance on big hits on track. If the bump stop doesn't engage anything, you should be able to keep compressiong your suspension until eventually something hits. My question is why isn't your tire able to hit anything? Is your suspension binding and possibly causing other performance or safety issues? Just food for thought.
@ChristianLikesFootball2 жыл бұрын
@@AnnexSuspensionGroup Compression travel of what, shocks? In your video your goal was to get the wheel as closed to the fender as possible without hitting, and you want your bump stop to be compressed at this point. My question is why does the bumpstop need to be compressed when it's function is to stop your shocks and suspension from bottoming out and causing your whole suspension from .. exploding (for the lack of better word). Coilovers are height adjustable in some this is done at the lower collar and cup so if you don't slam it why would your wheel hit anything?
