Herlin Riley's performance on percussion is amazing, both on this video and on CD.

Some of today's singers could learn much from the greats. Don't embellish, stick to the tune, no need to increace the volume, you don't need to scream or shout, and you don't need to stretch the high notes an octive or so higher and strain your voice just to prove you reach it

I have been a fan from the moment in my life that I first heard her play the piano! I must be honest about my appreciation of this performance…I hated it! It was loud noise (not music). She was banging the piano rather than playing it! However - I hope those in attendance felt differently about it! After all - this is merely my assessment and opinion. I think she chose the wrong composition that day. RIP ❤

I LOVE all these comments! Rosemary Clooney was my all-time favorite female classic jazz singer. She was just perfect in my estimation. Cool yet emotional. And SO VERY natural. No pretense. Just Rosemary. Iconic Rosemary. And yes, giving the creators of the songs she sings, the credit they deserved!

I have to admit that I’m totally smitten by Dorothy’s and her piano music. I just can’t get enough of her. You know and appreciate a professional, who knows her craft and instrument so well. And who’s heart is so big that she invites everyone to share with her. In a special moment in time. Thank you Dorothy Donegan greatly appreciated.

Dorothy and Mary Lou Williams were both outstanding Stride players . Both " paid their dues " and worked hard to achieve perfection on the keyboard! 😂😅❤❤

This band has always been one of my favorites, especially the 70s thru the 2000s. I've had the great honor to perform with them on three occasions and to record with Vaughn Nark, Rick Whtehead, and Rick Lillard. I'm glad I found this. Thanks for posting.

I was a jazz studies major. The night before the 1992 election I got a call from a Democrat canvasser who asked if Gov. Clinton could count on my vote. I said "absolutely not." When she asked why I said "because I'm a musician and I can't vote for anyone who plays the saxophone that badly."

She was great, our. Piano tuner gave me her phone number but I never used it ,and she passed on,which was a drag.. for moderate tempo stride with the tenths she was as good as it gets .. I'm happy she played the white house, she certainly deserved it . And she also has a great personality and humor... I loved this video . .

04:36 no comment except: Charlie Shavers! The worlds most underestimated trumpet player. He can also play differently from the trumpet battle: Pure genius :-) Click here for a fairly quiet piece, but one that is played just as virtuously. kzbin.info/www/bejne/hZeYqmSCad9nqJY
