I last saw these in regular mainline passenger use on VIA Rail in the mid-1980’s. They would be paired in kind, with FP9’s, and with LRCs before they were withdrawn. Watching and hearing them accelerate out of Bayview near Hamilton was always a treat.

What's with the mad editing? half-an-hour of talking stationary BOOM! we're going 15 mph thru some forest. (no start, no accel, no sense of route) Scenery this, scenery that -HOOOOOOONK! - oh it turns out someone had forgotten to turn the camera on in time for a crossing, but decided to show what's left of it anyway... this isn't a cab ride, it's a jumpscare prank video.

I think it is very sad this is no longer used. I know I would use it very often if it were still in service. It would be an excellent resource for Geneva.

Grand Central Terminal rarely saw diesel locomotives. Electric locomotives were used for passenger service North of Washington D.C.

Oh man, an old Train Brake handle with the second position of "LAP" meaning neither charging, nor discharging of air, rather simply maintaining the current pressure setting. I had a rude awakening when I had to learn how to use one of these. I think that valve is a 6BL? I could be wrong but I learned on something like that in an old Alco RS-3. Prior to that, everything else I was trained on had self-lapping and you didn't need to remember to place the valve in that position. I spent the first few days making undesired stops and recovering my air, cursing the non self-lapping valve the whole time. Edit and Correction: 6BL was what I learned on, the brake stand in the video is a 24RL, predecessor to today's current 26L and 26C.

It was my understanding that Alco (Schenectady) never built any FP-4's, that they were all from Montreal. To the best of my knowledge, CN was the only original operator. And I believe they used the much better 251 prime mover rather than the ill-fated 244 used in Schenectady's FA's.

That is amazing. I have been wanting to go for a cab ride on that locomotive since I was in second grade. Do you possibly know the people who do this enough to ask them if there is a way to get a start up sound of that locomotive? Also, I am trying to make it to Pennsylvania next year and would love to go for a ride myself and hear this motor Running up close.

A, P and Caty are all naughty to make them dead… this cross isn't mine. I called God to stick them in a cross. So whatever, before Caty is my best friend and she's cute… then she's lazy and naughty. Wrong spelling, I never get anything else to alphabet friends. Nothing can stop me now. I'm a police. I know, this drain has a big hole and ducklings can fall. Lazy P, I'm angry. I'm out of here now.

I think it was very noble of the kid and dad to help the ducks but the kid should stop following the ducks as that was probably what scared them. And as soon as the ducks starting quacking the duck fell in the drain and the kid didn’t realise. He should’ve been paying more attention.

From what I see, this is an Ex-TRE car! TRE (aka Trinity Railway Express) is a commuter agency based out of Dallas/Fort Worth Texas. They had a few of them running while the F59PHs and BBLs were being delivered, with the cars going to the DCTA to start their services in the early 2010s. They were later returned and sold to other railroads. Glad to see one still operating!

Your thinking of the PA variant. Six axle, passenger units. These are the FA variant. Four axle, freight haulers. Very similar styling, easy mistake to make.
