Some portions were painted, and since warn off, others were never finished being painted, because Perneb died before completing his tomb. Likely this tomb is of higher quality than the mudbrick home he lived in. He would have diverted valuable energies and resources away from earthly investments towards this elaborate tomb.

This is probably going to come off as me being an ass, but id like to extend some criticism. I feel like this video as a “trailer” of sorts for the content you make isnt what you need to bring in viewers. You claiming that you have some “never seen before” stuff just makes it not seem genuine. The whole short is setup like a tv show would be(in the way that you outline what you are doing and what your videos are about), which is seemingly good, except for the fact that no one watches tv anymore (because like this reel, its too slow), you need more intriguing reasons to watch, you getting scammed, something believable and also something that evokes strong emotions in others. Keep it short and simple, are people watching you for one reason, or for multiple? If so, are you making videos with all of that content in it? Or separating it so that people watch through the whole video, resulting in more recommendations and more views. Maybe none of this is important to you whatsoever and your purpose is making content that you enjoy making, thats fine too obviously, i just wanted to possibly help if you had some bigger dreams
@PapyrusPunditАй бұрын
Thank you for this criticism @colbiashimaru. Your point about it not feeling genuine with the promise of things you've never seen before is actually extremely helpful. I do wonder if it feels more genuine for a promise like this to be in a long-form video. I have read that making promises at the beginning of a long-form video is good for maintaining viewership, hence why I chose to add it here. - I tend to post about 3 different types of shorts: 1: trailers for episodes like this (usually relatively low views and low sub count) 2: Short cuts of full length episodes which show just a small portion of what's in that episode (relatively medium views with medium sub count) 3: Cuts of travel events such as being chased by wild dogs, strange scammers approaching me, strange cultural events etc. (Higher views with lower sub count) - My posting logic with this video revolves around pulling in a large number of subscribers to the channel relative to view count. With currently 700 views on this video in 3 hrs + 7 subscribers gained from this video, this video is technically a success compared with most shorts I've posted. My average subscriber gain per short is 3-5 subs, with an average of about 2k views per short. Getting a high number of views on a short is arguably not that valuable, since my channel is really all about long-form videos. Ultimately doesn't seem like you can make $ from shorts anyway, especially with this type of content (Egypt, history, travel, categories that have low virility) - Video trailers usually don't do well on shorts but this was an easy cut to make and post, less than 1 hr of work. Weighed against added subs, it seems like a success. Then there's the whole conversation of whether these are high-value subs (willing to watch long-form content on my channel) or low-value subs (low attention span, watches shorts only). Still unsure how that shakes out. - Ultimately, I don't want to post shorts at all but about 70% of my subscribers have come from the 80+ shorts that I've posted. - To answer your other question: yes, this is the sort of content I enjoy making, though of course editing shorts isn't that exciting nor do I truly innovate the process beyond altering footage originally intended for long-form videos. - Thanks for letting me bounce these ideas of you and for your honest feedback. Best, PP

@catman8965Ай бұрын
@@PapyrusPundit Well, you are talking about stripping away archeological evidence that would make it easier to date the pyramid - such as what? If dynamite, or another destructive method, wasn't used to open the relieving chambers, would we ever know about the hieroglyphs in the upper most relieving? Archeology is definitely a double edge sword.
@PapyrusPunditАй бұрын
@@catman8965pretty much anything can be used for dating depending on context. So much has been stripped away in the last 200 years it’s quite serious. Even now there are men in the night pulling stones from Giza to sell and recycle as antiquities. Most egregious examples that we know of could be the notch or step at the pyramid’s center which has been cemented over, and the last known fragment of the portcullis stones which was removed sometime in the last 75 years never to be seen again. The whole dynamite thing was crazy in retrospect and can’t be undone so hindsight is somewhat a waist of time… but yeah it would have been discovered and probed properly if they hadn’t done that. Actually the graffiti is a little problematic and inconclusive so it would have been much more beneficial to Egyptology if its discovery was more recent.

All damage occurred after her death. Most of the damage occurred during the reign of Thutmose III, her nephew and successor. Most of the damage was limited to imagery that depicted her as pharaoh, not imagery that depicted her prior to being pharaoh. So one interpretation is that they were trying to eliminate evidence of a female pharaoh, but not actually wiping her from existence.

It's a sobering reality that the Egyptians, once the heart of early civilization, now find themselves in a different light. Their society, once a beacon of advancement, no longer shines as brightly. This decline in societal And Political standing is a cause for concern, especially when juxtaposed with the grandeur of ancient Egypt. Egypt is all about baksheesh. From the poor, uneducated citizens to the majority of the upper class, including mostly government officials, they all get a piece of the pie. This is true whether your name is Zahi Abass Hawass or Mohommed the camel herder. Hawass was such a high-profile figure that it took the full power of Prime Minister Essam Sharaf to remove Hawass, who arguably was the most powerful archaeologist in the world. The fact that Hawass continues to exert significant political influence is a stark reminder of the deep-rooted corruption in Egypt's political system. This corruption not only undermines the country's governance but also jeopardizes the preservation of its ancient artifacts. It's a loss that cannot be overstated. This video points out the vast pillaging of tombs and artifacts, which, in my mind, can only occur if the government is not diligent about preventing it. It makes one wonder how many officials are complicit in looking the other way when robbers ply their trade, and as an alternative, these very officials may be the buyers of the ill-gotten gains dug out of the desert at night. In the days of the Pharaohs, tomb robbers were treated harshly when caught. Many were chopped into pieces, skinned, or burned alive. The scene in The Mummy, where the priest were taken to the mortuary and embalmed alive, probably wasn’t too far from the truth. Larry from Texas
