great guitar lesson. Just one request: if you could have someone else do the vocals with you, it would help. You are often not singing in the same key you are playing (it is a bit high so I get it) and that makes it a little to follow by listening. It is somewhat dissonant.

I cant remember if i was at this vibes or not. Typical deadhead I think i was there response. However i have noticed tommy and all of their vocals have improved greatly since about 2017. Esp joe on the high harmonies

love your vids man, maybe your versions are not perfect but dang site better than mine lol. I really appreciate your patience and humor. I never really considered the whole 14 thing lol I just assumed it was like a "period" piece like that shit was acceptable way back when and in sketch place like whatever. I figured that's what made it "authentic" heh. At least that was how i had it in my head lol.

Gosh I love Davvy’s vocals. So easy to focus on his amazing guitar playing, both rhythm and incredible leads, that it’s easy to miss what an amazing job he does on vocals. Davvy is an all-around bad-ass and funky dude!

If that $6000 wolf replica was like $1500 I would try to get it. I use a blue burst (gorgeous stain btw) Mexican Strat I got for a steal brand new. Fender had one of their best sales ever and a retailer actually combined a coupon with the already lowest sale they ever did. I couldn’t not do it. The added 30% off wasn’t supposed to be added already with the $200 off but I contacted support asking why the discount code wouldn’t go through. They added it in and I got it for like 50% what it cost!! In my eyes for free since I can easily sell it for what I paid. Think it’s a $799 guitar and I paid $399. Was amazing. But anyways that’s what I’m rocking now but wolf I’ve always thought was the most gorgeous guitar ever. Some replicas just don’t get the wood grain right and doesn’t look good. But the one shown in the video that was $6000 is legit a replica and looks fantastic. If I had a 150k job maybe I would spend $6000. But I can barely even play lead. lol. I would feel guilty being that person with money who gets an expensive guitar and can’t play nearly as well as how great my guitar is. So probably should still with my Mexican Strat. I’ve had 3 different Mexican fenders through the years. 2 starts and one telecaster. I had the telecaster before this one and I wish I never sold it. Got like $250 for it. My nephew just got a new telecaster. It weighs like half what mine did. Not sure how they are making them so much cheaper they weigh that much less. But I like the weight to it which helps with the sound. The density of the wood. Just sometimes I like to play drop D songs and hate retuning. Would be nice to just have that to grab.

It is not elitist to like your Dead the way you like your Dead. Most of us have our preferences. And you are right about it being about the music, not who is playing it. As long as the music is done well and "music to our ears" we embrace it, dance to it, love it, no matter who is playing it. Did you ever hear anyone complaining about who Phil picked for the Jerry seat in Phil and Friends(slight nepo comments aside)? NO. Why? Well Phil didn't set his band up as the second coming of the Dead(Which is JRAD IMO but that is a post for another day). And they are all top notch, including Graham. I like him. The music was always up to speed, and played well with Phil. He even backed off singing and brought in females to improve the sound. It always seemed to be more about the music than the man at a Phil show. Can't say that was a vibe I got much at Dead co shows. And the slow blues pace gets old after a while unless you are seeing BB KIng or Gatemouth Brown, Buddy Guy, even Derek Trucks or, Jerry Garcia, to name a few, do it ;). I am glad Bob and Mickey are out there still making their version of the music.I like Billy and the Kids with Tom Hamilton. anything JK does I love. Dead co is a choice in a growing array of choices and styles. Cool. Thank Bobby for that for sure. I enjoyed the nostalgia trip and visuals at the Sphere last year. If any of you deadheads have the funds go. Every head shd do it at least once. Beware the seats in the 100's where you cant see the screen.

If ya’ll don’t have a tron or envelope filter pedal you can still get that sort of tone on most guitars by going to the bridge pickup and rolling the tone off almost all the way

I'd for sure take more videos like this! Love your thoughts and opinions on what's going on in the Dead gear market. One of the struggles of the Jerry guitar realm, is just how spendy some of these guitars/gear are. I get craftmanship, time, effort, and materials, but $10,000+ for a guitar is insane to me. But, I guess if you can afford it and got that disposable income. Languedoc guitars and some clones are the same way too. Why must I like guitarists/guitars that are incredibly unique and/or one of a kind?!?

I've been a supportive member of this community/channel for quite a while. We've shown up in countless live streams and contributed what we could. This comment is the personification of said engagements and not meant to stigmatize any specific line of inquiry. But, im reolsved that this is meant for modern-era jerry folks. Arguably, anyone engaged with the platform post-jerry. Enjoy the art, and share with anyone who will listen. However, the condescending nature of posts like this is detrimental to the original narrative outside of those new to the space. No hate, but I, and others within our circle, are less than concerned with this narrative. I accept that it is our choice, and we look forward to the live streams. Beyond that, the heads could care less about highlighting the tightening grip of capitalism and who is ripping off players or fans. Keep your head up, fam ✌️
