"For some reason . . . Phil started working for the Post Office . . . " Strange? He needed the money to live on. He wasn't working in any band at that point. He explains it in his memoirs.

I wish you could show a chord diagram along with it. Like a tab. I have to look up how the b chord and everything looks like. And sometimes it's kind of hard to find the right one.

sweet man. as always. It would be cool for you to make a video on discussing singing / vocal performance. How you got to work on your voice, learn how to sing, and discuss nuances of it all. I enjoy hearing you talking about singing. you sing very well, and going deeper into this discussion would be very interesting. Peace Bro

Thanks for the lesson. My fave Dead song. And I'm not really a big Dead fan. But this is a great tune. I first heard this in 1970 or 71. I would listen to this along with Abraxas and Led Zep II.

I really enjoyed this show. I love it when ppl nerd out on GD. It’s a great tribute to Phil. He really was the glue in the band

I appreciate you walking me through this. I'm just an old guy who had older brothers in the 70s and went to some shows in the 80s. Then for a period of decades, I checked out and did my own thing and rarely, if ever checked in. I was surprised and filled with wonder when i realized the scene was still going strong. I really appreciate what you shared with me ❤

Thank you ! You not only did justice ti one of my favorite tunes but you taught it extremely well. Jerry would be proud. Really dig your ghetto peace sign humor while patiently doing justice to a freaking anthem man, thanks !

I don't disagree on your blues point, both vocals and guitar. But he evolved. Noblesville two years later is a different ball game. But I disagree and I think Jerry would disagree with your tribute band point, based on his roots. Jerry started out as a banjo player, eventually wanting to play bluegrass with Bill Monroe. I saw the Earl Scruggs Review in 1973 over a week at a festival. He was playing with his kids. It wasn't Bill Monroe or Flatt and Scruggs, but it wasn't a tribute band either. The Dead has become something similar. It's traditional music, a repertoire. Just like Jerry was willing to play the Beatles and Dylan. I agree about SRV. Like his records, saw him and was bored.

11:57 bro it’s cause you feel it ,sometimes you play a song so good and the feeling is right and everything is just right that you quiet literally get TURNED ON ,you get angry at the guitar it’s just inexplicable ,some people punch the guitar ,some people make faces ,some people make moves bc they simply can’t contain themselves ,it depends on the person and I can totally relate to John doing that tbh

You know those people who only seem to go to shows to point a flashlight at the floor and look for ground scores? When they're not doing that, they're sharing their opinions loudly on reddit
