It was by FAR one of the most utterly brilliant production of ANYTHING I have ever seen. ; ) Thoroughly enjoyed the setting, the script, and the performance. I had a 280 miles round trip and every single mile was worth it.

"The programme is one long hymn to the Great God of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI, aptly), who demands and here receives full obeisance." I had the same thought last night when I saw a few minutes of a programme about putting together a choir for the Coronation Concert, to be held in Windsor on Sunday. It was preoccupied with ensuring every diversity box was ticked. The whole thing was utterly joyless. As for the lost city of Brighton, I preferred it in the days when Keith Waterhouse described it as a town which looks like it is helping the police with their inquiries.

a great good intro to this year's thingummies - we may not have been able to be present 'live', but the diveo certainly brings the brochure programme to life (we'd looked earlier and been pondering what to book early) bravo, both co-directors, for making those connections and to the festival crew for giving them space. the conversation really amplified this year's theme, which is, in so many ways, apt. the whole feel of the festival programme (*) seems to engage the whole town (well, ok, city - 'twas but a town when i was a lad) yet more and beyond. so good to see the engagement with all resident sand plenty of environments expand even further. a good balance, methinks, of most stylees of event (even if there's fewer that are immediately essential to my readymade likes - we're always willing to chance our arm, one of the joys of brighton festival over the decades we've indulged) and the presentation inspires enthusiasm to get our tkts purchases sorted soonest. a couple of points: - will the riwaq live on beyond may? 'twould be a shame to lose such a construction (maybe transpose it to eg, preston park / madeira drive / st anne's wells garden... if it can't remain in situ - a fresh b.o.a.t.like space for the future. mentioning the crystal palace may not be a popular brighton utterance, but, hey, it worked there, until...). - any chance you can tweak the subtitles to anglicise the spellign? we's british, after all, innit!? my only criticism of the launch doings. here's to a goody. cheers paul

I love how beautifully the cello accompanies the text of the poem, particularly *dropping* in pitch to the very low final note on the word ‘dropped’

Expect moments of pure DakhaBrakha brilliance, doing vocal and even instrumental things no other group could ever hope to pull off. The Brakhas vocal abilities are unequaled. They are an order of magnitude beyond any other musical ensemble in the world. They never cease to totally amaze me, move me, gladden my soul, give me pure joy. There should be a lot more views of this concert.
