I really need this because i want to turn a vindicator into an ork trukk. By turning it around and using the cannon as a rocket. And turning the back of it into the front of the vehicle, then adding ork features onto the front

Hey man, I just used this tutorial to good effect. Very useful guide, but a few comments after doing this myself. 0. This takes ages to do (days if you make more then 1 like I did ). Have another painting project ready. 1. Clump foliage - you have to grind it fine in a mixer or hand mixer. Don't do this by hand or you will go insane. Clump foliage comes in clumps (hence the name!), so grind it first! Doesn't have to be small, but grind it. 2. Use pva glue, but when you are left with spots left after 1st or 2nd coat, i used super glue, to speed up drying time. 3. USE PRIMER, not just any white for the first 2-3 coats. I made the mistake of applying normal colors (that's on me, but still) and not primer. You will ages trying to coat it white (like 10-15 layers). USE PRIMER. 4. Drybrush section go from smaller part to bigger part, don't drybrush all the colors everwhere, it needs to be a gradient. Other than that this is a great tutorial, the effect is fantastic. Thanks

Technically absolute best. But…….why does everyone think that the aliens in nemesis have to be green or purple or even turquoise? When i look at the alien films they aren‘t purple and they aren‘t green…… Aliens are dark nightmares…..dark, not flower power😀

Thanks a lot for sharing this. I have applied your formula to my intruders and cannot be happier 😊 Was wondering which Colors shall I use to do the same on the void seeders and the carnomorphs. For void ones I do not know whether red/purple would combine fine, or it would be much better blue/purple. For carnos red with ivory maybe, not sure about it yet. In any case, thanks again, this was incredible ;)

Wow! That‘s looking good. How would you varnish the model to get some protection while playing? Just a satin varnish?
@TheGrimyPainter4 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Well, that's a good question. I always notice that most of the varnishes do modify the final look of the miniatures. Your best option is to paint a couple of plastic spoons, paint them in the same manner as the miniatures, and then on each one use a different varnish and see which one you prefer!
@christianb.23604 жыл бұрын
@@TheGrimyPainter Thanks for the quick response! Normally I use ultra matt varnish, but with metallics that might be problematic 😁

Finally getting around to painting my minis, and after looking at all the awesome types, I think this is my favorite. Great job on these - I love the metallic color look. Sound is a little rough in a couple spots, but I was able to figure it out. Suggestion: List the paints you used in the description as well as in the video. If it's only in the video I have to keep going back and forth to see what something is. Still my favorite though. :D

Great tutorial what would you recommend if I wanted to protect the paint after as a varnish and not lose the look? Satin Varnish for the main parts and Gloss for the appendages?
@voodoodad96064 жыл бұрын
You gave me a great idea with your video. I'm currently working on the Reaper Bones Dragons Don't Share boxed set and I decided to do the dragon breathing fire at the knight/paladin guy using this technique. I'm just using plain old cotton balls for the flame and it seems to be working pretty well so far. I'm also giving it a splash effect at the end where it hits the knight's shield. I'll be painting the whole thing with an OSL effect coming from the flames. I'll let you know how it comes out if you're interested.
