Watching the execution and mishandling of this ride has to be more tragic than watching the execution of the 38. Maybe try out the ride when the weather is warmer? Make a spreadsheet of the amount of hay you need? Check the weather forecast at some point...its' the current year and some are still trying to read the sky for weather prediction.

And super sad to see the lack of leadership among the riders and supporters. Can't help but think that a little more decisive unity would have made the whole thing go a lot smoother. "We are all leaders." Bro you are cooked.

"Was it wrong to defend ourselves? That is the question...* no, you had EVERY right to defend yourselves. It makes me ashamed, sad, ect., because my ancestors did this to you. We came into this land, destroyed it and your people, because we, apparently, thought we where better, had all the answers, that our ways were better, ect. WE were wrong, you didn't have to pay for ANY of the things that our ancestors did to you or your ancestors. The day is coming, when we face our creater, to stand for what we did to you. I personally, want to say, how sorry, SO sorry, for what we did to you and yours, that we still continuously do. I know actions speak louder then words.

FOR ANYONE WHO WANTS UPDATES: I was the one recording the video lol, I was hoping Silas would post updates as well, but I'm more than glad to do it :). This is an abandoned building in our town, with an old bank vault. Before leaving, Silas wanted one final photo. We tried to have someones head sticking out of the vault to make it look funny, but the door is extremely heavy (the owner of the building told us it was 18,000lbs.), and we couldn't stop it before it became as closed as it is in the video. Luckily, Tyler had his phone for light and the door was at least cracked so he could breathe properly. At least four of five of us pulled on that door, and each time, it wouldn't budge. After about 5 minutes of pulling, wondering if we should call the fire department, and re-evaluating our life choices, the owner of the building asked Tyler to press the glass door covering the gears against the vault door, where it was supposed to be. As soon as he did, the door opened. Take this as a lesson. Don't go in abandoned bank vaults.

blacks and natives have the same traumas and the biggest one of all is the desire to be considered human beings by yts. Our issues will never get better until we come together and recognize who our true enemy is. We have to come back to our old ways before we neglected the creator and worshiped the creation over the creator.

What a wonderful story. I'd never heard of the execution before today. I happen to be watching a documentary on public hangings and the Dakota 38 was mentioned briefly. I thought whoa, back up there! I couldn't believe Lincoln had freed the slaves but hanged these native Americans. It's unthinkable that this injustice was carried out in the land of the free & the home of the brave. Such a great vision this man had of bringing people together to heal.

Oddly enough the almost 400 innocent settlers that were slaughtered up and down the Minnesota River are not mentioned as the trigger for this event. Live and learn. Cause and effect. Action reaction. The young man at 48:15 talks about "why he doesn't get along with Caucasian people" and that event that happened over 150 years ago is why... talk about the victim mentality. He and those like him will stay right where they are at thanks to that BS thinking. Time to move on Jr., and it is time to see the bigger picture.
