In my opinion, I don't think they should because I had a line IQ back then, but the system was not working properly after four weeks.

@@Gt3Nismo13J that sucks, it’s their top of the line, you were able to bump feed though?

Many people say line IQ is slower to react to releasing line than they would like. Bump it and go.

"Line IQ" only works if the electric motor is located on the trimmer head, which would make it extremely nose heavy with the huge electric motor that the commercial trimmer uses. Even the new homeowners model (MST1603) has gone to the motor located in rear and ditched the "Line IQ" in favor of a driveshaft system like the STX4500 trimmer does. So now it can even use attachments too. But there is nothing like the power of STX4500, the MST1603 isn't a bad trimmer but it isn't even in the same league as a EGO commercial trimmer like STX4500 when it comes to power and comfort ect.

Hi Fleetguy, thanks for watching! Great question. The FL1053 has a machine requirement of 1550 lbs, which means the X578 is a little light for this unit.

@@papemachinery.agturf Thanks for the reply. I thought that weight might be problem. Mine does have suitcase weights on the front, and rear tires are filled. So, I am probably close, but I figured best to go with the FL1061 and put behind either of my 3Rs or possibly my 4075R in pinch. Likely ideal fit for my 3039R OOS or cab 3046R. Ordered a Fl1061 last Friday. I did cross shop it with the Deere 370 and 25A flails but seems since Deere did this frontier deal with Machio, they discontinued all the Deere flails.

@jdfleetguy28 - the 25A is still available to order from John Deere, and so is the heavy duty flail. We have availability on any of these flails to include the 370 - while our inventory lasts. :)

@@papemachinery.agturf Interesting, my dealer said he tried to spec one to order and the system would not take an order for the Deere models, he said he dug into deeper and found out those models were discontinued, which we both figured it was due to this new Frontier deal Deere made with Macchio last year. I was attempting to get a comparison of the FL1061 to that Deere 370 Price wise there was a huge difference, still don't really know what made the 370 so much more money than the FL1061, but since it was not something I could order I just went with ordering the FL1061. I don't mind paying for quality, I however due like to know what make it so much better to demand such a big difference, it was near double I think was something like $4K for the FL1061 vs $7K for the 370 in ballpark numbers.

Hi Mos, We didn't see a comment, and didn't delete. We were actually looking forward to finding out the course of action you'd take. Which model are you going with, for your extreme temps?

@@papemachinery.agturf Thank you. I'm very fond of my JD equipment, it has worked wonderfully well over many years and I truly hope this problem is resolved. This is my field and I know these batteries very well, a lot of people are very afraid of them because they don't understand the technology and chemistry. They are great batteries, every laptop, cell phone and garden implement has them BUT they must be used within specific parameters to function properly and last. You simply can not store these batteries or LiFePo4 batteries below freezing. I have asked JD for an answer on this but have not received one, the only solution I can see is to remove the battery pack for the winter and that is what I suggest those in cold climates do. I hope JD resolves this, I really like the total design of this zero turn, JD's revamp of the 3 series in 2023 really made this a worthy product. Hopefully next spring I'll be able to reinitiated my purchase or even a 5 series electric if they decide to make one..
