Love the acceleration sound! It's a bit (though only a bit) reminiscent of the ansaldo breda metro trains in kbh. This could be a genuinely good train. Tbh, after the debacle of IC4 I so hope it is. Venlig hilsen.

It was tested in Velim months ago, unit 001 to be specific. There's the unit 003 which allegedly is in Germany to be tested on the 25kV network in Blankenburg am Harz island railway.

One set is 110 meters long, which means 3 can be coupled together, without exceeding the danish platforms lengths of 400 meters.

@@Gert-DKDelayed cause Alstom is taking more orders than they have capacity and time to deliver, they’re also the reason our transition to ERTMS signalling here in Denmark has had cost overruns by billions and has been delayed by over a decade.

0:45 This wasn't even close to full throttle acceleration, this variant of the Alstom Coradia Stream is so fast you don't believe it. I'd love to see a cab ride/view video of the train acceleration from 0 to 200km/h, it's top speed, at full throttle, drag racing with it's colleague with similar acceleration, the Copenhagen S-train 4th generation, although this S-train is limited to 120km/h. All train should focus on max possible acceleration before top speed, minimizes delays and makes the trains actually feel fast, instead of just look fast driving by at 300km/h, which took that high speed trains forever to reach. The previous danish IC4 trains, compared to these new IC5, as they'll be called in Denmark, is the worst danish train scandal ever, but only because it was a diesel train, otherwise it would've been a decent train overall. The IC3 though is widely considered the best danish train ever, also cause it was made in Denmark, although also diesel, very reliable and comfortable, and still running great 30+ years later, although starting to get expensive to maintain, and spare parts of getting very hard to come by.

Update April 2024, they still aren't in operation for Tyne and wear metro due to numerous issues, no date as of yet when entering service. Three units are sat at south Gosforth depot collecting dust and getting old.
