Swimmers, you have 1 year to shave 15 seconds off your average 100 pace. What do you do? If you're an age group swimmer, masters swimmer, open water swimmer, or triathlete swimmer aiming to make a certain cut, qualify for an event, place in your age group, or get recruited by a certain school, what do you focus on to make a big drop in time? What training focuses can successful swimmers share with swimmers looking to achieve their goals? Swimmers, let's hear your strategies!

it can be, the egg beater kick is a version of breaststroke, but has a better ebb and flow or contract/relax with the alternating legs

2 resistance training sessions per week to offset muscle loss during higher volume swim training and to maintain strength progress. Reduce sets and reps with a focus on heavier loads and greater speeds to minimize additional training stress and maximize sustained force and power in the water. Full body training to support muscular balance, reducing swimming related imbalances, repetitive stress and injury risk. #openwaterswimming #openwaterswimmer #openwaterswim #triathlon #marathonswimming #wildswimming

@traindaly
@traindaly 18 күн бұрын
@@teeoh9192 treading in water that shallow, especially as tall as you are is hard. I wouldn't necessarily start someone who cant swim with treading, Id work more on floating face down and on your back, and teaching the freestyle and safety positions. You might find treading comes more natural after learning how to swim at the surface first.

POV: You started adding resisted sprints to your swimming and your pacing got faster. Why?? 🏊‍♂️🏊‍♀️ Speed is a combination of stroke force and stroke rate 💪💪 Resisted swimming increase both by forcing you to pull harder AND increase the rate you take strokes because you can’t glide Want an exclusive discount on this parachute? Swim and strength coaches are often focused on improving shoulder internal rotation to improve range of motion and position for the early vertical forearm. In addition to mobility it’s important to consider the rotator cuffs role in centering and stabilizing the shoulder during powerful arm strokes from the larger muscle groups. It’s well documented the internal rotators often become over developed and dominant at the expense of external rotation, leading to potential shoulder issues throughout the season. Here’s a few drills to consider adding to your in-season arm care program to maintain that balance. Thanks to physiotherapist @danielmoedas for these great examples working with the Portoguese national team. Does a water-training macrocycle really create imbalances in swimmers’ shoulder rotator muscles? Nuno Batalha et al.
