The problem with videos such as these is when working on a vehicle such as the Commander, they failed to mention engine size, year, type of 4wd system and if there was more than one transfer case ever used in this vehicle. This information needs to be disclosed at the very beginning. I mean, just look at the comments, everyone is arguing about what's right/wrong and seem to have evidence to support their side. So what the F is going on? If you're going to do a video, be as clear and transparent about what you're doing.

Your supposed take the fill plug out first. I think you put the wrong fluid type. It looks like the Mopar NV 245 transfer case fluid that came out when you drained. You will want to drain it and put the proper fluid ASAP!
@marydi99102 жыл бұрын
Wrong. She clearly loosened fill plug first if you watched video and our vehicle calls for transmission fluid to be used in transfer case. I have the original book. She used the correct fluid
@SquidBoy562 жыл бұрын
Absolutely correct; use the Mopar NV 245 fluid--- it's well worth the negligible price differential and won't void the warranty (if your vehicle is still under warranty).
@joshuamoore24_74 жыл бұрын
Are you sure it does not take Mopar NV 245 transfer case fluid? It looked like a gear oil color instead of ATF+4 when you drained. The QD-II & QT-II it says online takes 1.8 quarts of Mopar NV245 transfer case oil!!. If it takes ATF +4 it supposed take 3.5 quarts. I think you might have put the wrong fluid in the transfer case. It came out like a light gear oil color when drained not red like ATF +4!!!!

The Sturgis pretzel tin held Sturgis pretzels made in Reading, Pa. Sturgis is not a place in this case, it's a pretzel company. The first phonograph shown, the Standard Disc first came out in 1909. She read the date on the clamp that holds the horn in place with a patent date of 1901. It used larger spindle hole records made by the Standard Talking Machine Co.

Sir that H.K. Porter Allen Randall bolt cutters could be cleaned up and restored and do more days work than any bolt cutters made today. That ones one of 4 styles forged and made in one plant for at least 80years. The location was called either Boston, Everett, Boston 43 or Somerville 43 over the 88 years from 1900 to 1988. The number 43 refered to 02143 the zip code.. I have a small #0 model made in 1916 when my dad was 4. I also have 2 bolt cutters made in 1950s one similar #3 model to yours, another #1 model which is smaller. I have 7 tree limb arbor cutters from 20s and 60s, as well as some smaller tools and metal cutters too. My dad worked where your bolt cutter was made as a machinist in late 1950s to 1978. All the tools made their remind me of my dad and are made better than the tools they make today. I hope you do a good job restoring them. I use black and red engine enamel as the paint a perfect match to the colors they used. Oh they also made mining and industrial train engine back in 1900 to 1950s as well. I often wonder how far away from the plant they were made have their tools traveled in their life. I found a strapping cutter down in Florida last year that was made at the same plant. Wicked cool!
@stephenkent89034 жыл бұрын
@@ZUMBAROSE thanks for letting me know where you and the H.K. Porter bolt cutters have traveled. One thing that you might find interesting. I came across a old machinist supply catalog by Chase, Parker from Boston from the 1920s. I bought it so I could find out what some of my dad's tools were who was a machinist. As I was flipping through the book I found that H.K. Porter made 4 different styles of bolt cutters. Porter's Ok Porter's New Easy Porter's Allen-Randell Porter's Hypowa The funny thing is the price of the biggest 42" Allen-Randell was only $12.00! They even sold replacement parts. I wish we could still get replacement parts.

The saddle is great. You have the fenders on backwards however. The loops (the loops that go around the stirrup leathers) on the fenders go on the outside (not next to the horse). So the fenders will end up between the stirrup leathers and the horse. In other words the side of the skirt that you have facing the outside goes against the horse. So swap the two fenders left and right and run the stirrup leathers on the outside through the loops.

You and Uncle minty... should check the technical service bulletins which states that atf4 fluid is no longer used in the transfer case. The NV140/NV245 both use Mopar transfer case fluid, or you can even use Amsoil tractor fluid. ATF 4 is no longer used because it can cause squealing in sharp turning. Oh I think I got it they don't know the difference between the transmission and the transfer case.....even worse.....

Yes, thanks. I've not seen this type before. It almost seems too elaborate and no doubt expensive when new for home use. Do you think they could they have been used in restaurants? The rollers and crank assembly are similar to and may also have been sold as clothes wringers but without the marble base. The biscuit makers I've seen in Maryland are all wood with a flat tray maybe 30 inches long and 12 inches wide with a ribbed wooden roller and hand crank mounted on it. They are often home made. Of course, most houses probably just pounded the dough out by hand with a mallet or flat side of an axe head.
@robertkramarek69937 жыл бұрын
how do you measure internal ohm res of stick if you connect ohm metter it will blow fuse.
@michael47lamb7 жыл бұрын
You can estimate R by dividing volts by the amp charging rate on the screen of the charger/reconditioner you are using. Also when testing the sticks it is ALWAYS best to load test each stick to see what cells are getting warmer than its neighbors. The warm cell has a higher R. It is best not to use that stick until it is working well. Cycling it a few times may fix Resistance problems temporarily. But when in doubt replace the stick with another that is acting right. A "good" stick will discharge at 20 amps or more from a full charge WITHOUT ANY heating for at least a minute. Of course the longer you "burn" it the warmer it gets so dont over do it. One or two minutes is enough to see if it is good enough to use in the car. A good automotive battery load tester is good at this test. The little chargers like IMaxB6 and others like it are not going to have a fast enough D rating (they typically have 1 to 2 amps D rates.)
