Glad for your grandparents that they didn't live nearby these propellers, because many have complained of noise or a constant humming sound filling the air. Also birds occasionally are killed by the blades. Their longevity is only ten years. Compared to Dams decades old, and still producing clean energy for thousands of residents.

Dams are modern miracle. They are multipurpose. Water storage for a growing population. flood control, hatcheries for native fish, generators of clean energy providing electricity for millions.

Norris Lake is the cleanest and most beautiful lake in Tennessee ❤ I’ve been inside the dam many years ago as a high school student back in the early 70s best field trip ever. I grew up on Norris Lake and now it’s become nothing but a tourist attraction for the boaters of the Northern States. Please keep our beautiful lake as you found it before you leave 👍

Should’ve sued you guys back when one of your officers stole my dslr camera and equipment back in 2004 while I was taking photos of metropolis lake in West Kentucky, claiming “there’s a danger of terrorism” in me taking daytime photos of someone fishing at the lake for a college project. Then he came to my house miles away to threaten me again and “ban me” from the lake and claim that my personalized plate issues by Kentucky was “in violation” and if I didn’t change it he would confiscate my pickup. Wish I hadn’t have been a young kid who didn’t know anything. Morons.

When it rains here, MAN DOES IT RAIN!!!!! I thought it rained in Mass. (where I grew up) but boy, have I learned about rain since moving south in 1999. Especially in Feb, March and April, holy moly we can get a ton of rain. Some years we've had 60+ inches! Thank God for the TVA.

TVA has truly made a difference in East Tennessee. But I am saddened that Surgoinsville (Phipps Bend) sits today like a ghost of past irrational fears over nuclear power safety. It was one of TVA's collosal blunders along with Hartsville, another long ago abandoned nuclear plant which cost American taxpayers BILLIONS!
