The boot of the MK1 with quattro it's shallower than the ones without quattro. I think in MK3 there is no difference. MK1 always will be a very special car with timeless design. I find MK3 design also great, it's very aggressive. So sad that they discontinued the model.

I have a MK1 225 in light silver, I love it but I'm starting to miss some edges n such... I used to be a big fan of the 80s wedge design. Soo, yeah I like the new MK3 look, its futuristic, clean mix of rounds and edges. I would get it in white or again silver. :)

It should be fine if the car is sound, I've never tested it on multiple day journies but my advice would be on highways/motorways and fast roads...go slightly under the speed limits especially if it has only 5 gears so that there is less chance of things going wrong.

"its German engineering" - Told adamantly by a Hungarian descendent friend "Its built in HUNGARY!" And it also has stickers that confirm this fact in the engine bay.
@The_Car_Yard8 ай бұрын
Sure it's assembled in Hungary...however Audi is a German brand and under the Volkwagen Group umbrella. On top of that... all the design work for the original TT was done by a mixture of German and American designers, led by J Mays and Freeman Thomas, both worked for Volkwagen at the time. So it's safe to say its german engineered but assembled in Hungary.

Enjoy the car. Some little upgrades I did with mine inc getting the callipers painted (I went red) and the hubs painted silver (they all go rusty). It’s worth getting a resonator delete done to give it a bit more of a sportier tone and making sure u update the virtual cockpit so u can get the sport dial view, update the maps, add apple carplay etc. Depending on your audio tastes and the cars setup you might want to add a sub in the back to give it some decent bass. I also upgraded my front speakers to audison. Well chuffed with the sound now.

How's the reliability? I'm 19 and I'm looking to get the 2017 tt. I know parts are going to be expensive but I'm curious how often will this break down especially If I'm getting a used one with at least 90k mileage..
@The_Car_Yard10 ай бұрын
It’s a reliable car from my experience. Mines on 60k miles and I’ve done about 5k miles in it from when I bought it. And it’s not had a single problem. Just had it serviced too and they mentioned the car is in good shape 👌 hope you get the car! 👊 There’s always some minor common problems with every car and the TT is no different but it shouldn’t break down as long as it’s been looked after well and you treat it well too.

I am the original owner of a 2016 TT with 96,000 miles. Car has been Stage 1+ ECU/TCU by Unitronic since 5,000 mi. Other than routine oil every 5,000 mi, I've done three DSG/Haldex oil changes, one transmission mount, two cam shaft actuators, one water pump, one battery, coil packs and one complete change of brakes and one valve carbon cleaning at the same time the water pump was done. I software upgraded the car myself to CarPlay and TTS centre display.

@@davidstuart4915 I can get 31-33 mpg US on a long highway drive, in UK that would be 37-40 mpg. The tune did not affect fuel economy, in fact, it might have made it a bit better. I don't launch the car a lot but it low 4's sound about right with a tune. It's noticeable. The car had a stage 2 tune and unitronic downpipe for a while but I didn't like the drone. The launches were definitely improved and more brutal. Stage 1 enchances the car, Stage 2 changes the car substantially. And louder since you may give up a resonator to install a downpipe. A camshaft actuator is about 90 GBP, the engine will misfire, through a code and be generally miserable especially at high rpm. The part installs in 10 min with three bolt on the left hand side of the engine. There are two of them for intake and exhaust. Water pumps can be costly. The water pump on mine died at 123,000 km just under the class action lawsuit claim limit in Canada. When the water pump dies, it can be good to get a valve carbon cleanup because everything is apart anyways. Budget 500-600 GBP considering amount of labour involved. The timing chain still has lots of life in it. You can put CarPlay on it easily if it doesn't have it already. You can add the sport display too easily. The car is now at 99,000 miles. It has had the same set of brakes for nearly 60,000 mi. Four corners of brakes is cheap for a TT because parts are easily found. I change oil every 5,000 mi. I change DSG fluid every 35-40,000 mi. These cars thrive on regular maintenance. If you're interesting in modding and performance, it is worth considering a TTS. In Canada, the TT generally shipped fully loaded with S-line bits, it may be different in the UK.

I have a 2014 1.0T eco boost Titanium Navigator 100k miles There are loads of different exhausts on eBay I am really not sure what I need to look for. Do you have any advice on what I can do? should I get a straight pipe or maybe just delete the muffler. I am going to daily use my car to go to uni however it is also my family's car, my dad can't drive due to a problem with his knee so I have to take my family whenever they want to go like shopping and go out on weekends etc. I want to get a sensible exhaust so when I go with my family it's not too stupid and embarrassing but also wants something decent to enjoy the car when I am by myself. I know you are not an expert if you can help let me know.

Nice 👌 I wouldn’t recommend straight pipe if you transport your family in it. Maybe muffle delete is the way to go, and a remap maybe too? 🤔
@alitoto545210 ай бұрын
Ok i will try to just delete the muffler and see, would that fail my mot? Would that still make it sound better or it's just a tiny bit more than not deleting it? I am worried about the car having EcoBoost which is a shit engine idk if remapping will actually damage the car in the long run cuz my car is a bit old? what kind of modification would you recommend? would getting bigger turbo pipes be good? @@The_Car_Yard

What about a back box delete, would that be good? muffler or backbox as a start?@@The_Car_Yard
@The_Car_Yard8 ай бұрын
Honestly, I'm not sure on how it would affect the MOT. Depends on how loud it makes your car I suppose. Deleting the muffler would defo make a noticeable difference, if your car is older then it might be best not to remap, or at least check with your garage if it's worth the risk. Getting more airflow into the engine bay will always help improve performance and help keep engine temps down.

I’ve had my 66 plate TTS since February 22 & have covered nearly 12k miles.( I’m retired ) current mileage now 42k I’ve been insured with Adrian Flux up until now, as the renewal for 2024 was nearly £650 which is double to what it has been, Managed to get it down to £450 for exactly the same cover as AF, with a different insurance company. I kept away from a newer model because of the high road tax so only paying £215 same as my previous Mercedes. I have it serviced at my local Quattro Tec & for piece of mind had them do a Haldex & oil filter & oil change & plugs,all brake pads had been replaced by the previous owner, even though the mileage was just under 30k when I bought it. I run it mainly on Shell V power & in comfort mode on long runs easily get 40.9 mpg using cruise control. Obviously a lot less when I drive it like I stole it !! 😂 Other than the issues surrounding the water dripping into the boot when opening after heavy rain..& drivers door glass squealing after the hot weather we had,( I’ve squirted silicone down the runners a few times ) but still squeals now & again 🙄 the only other problem I’ve encountered is the crappy Audi sound system as mine wasn’t fitted with the B&O & the cost of having the upgrade is ridiculous.. I also had front parking sensors fitted, as for some reason Audi didn’t fit them as standard cost around £800 at a VAG Retrofit, so I get Audible & visual both ends.. I absolutely love the car & what it gives & would recommend buying one ..

Driving in efficiency mode and sensibly in a small town gets me about 34mpg. When I’m in a city that’s when it goes down to like 20 or less, depending on traffic. Then on open roads. The best it’s ever been is 44mpg, but that’s going under speed limit and not ragging it at every opportunity and driving at same speed for like 2 hours😅but still. Decent figures for a fast car, if you drive carefully.

I have one in Daytona grey and black edition trim… lovely car, but it’s only five months old and already as quite a lot of rust around the breaks/inside of the wheels, which is quite obvious with the open spoke alloys. I had a similar issue with a Mk 2, a few years ago.
@The_Car_Yard Жыл бұрын
Black edition trim is awesome! 🙌 Yeah I’ve also noticed that the brake discs can collect a thin layer of rust/iron. But it’s usually after a few days of not using the car for me and using the car shines the brakes up again too.
@jamesconnell5242 Жыл бұрын
@@The_Car_Yard yes, that’s certainly the case with the discs, but the non contact parts like the outside of the calipers or the ‘top hats’ also rust pretty easily on the surface. It’s a shame that the painted parts are only part of the spec for the TTS and above.

No cruise control or Android Auto/Carplay integration though. With the N-Line spec you also get active lane-keeping, automatic headlights, a rear view camera, collision mitigation and 100HP. I'd much rather have all those than climate control and an auto gearbox - especially in a 1.2l engine. The N-Line spec still gets 50-60mpg too.
@The_Car_Yard Жыл бұрын
That’s true if you want all the bells and whistles. But also, not everyone would want a sportier looking i10 which is what the N line essentially is. Depends on what the customer wants in the end, and the i10 N lines audience is narrower than the premium SE model.
@victormarian7889 Жыл бұрын
Yes endeed, you get about 43 mpg in City, and 54 mpg in the long run, but it definitelly looks better, since the model that he ' s presenting is the make 2, and the N - Line comes from the make 3, that beeing even a tad bigger.
