Great work! What type of wood are you using? Dimensions of bench layout?
@NordicBuild3 күн бұрын
@@joeschmoe2993thank you 😊 the benches are made from Thermo treated Ash. Found someone who sold them "cheap" luckily enough. Benches are 205cm long. Top bench 110cm height from roof and is 60cm so it is just wide enough to lay down on. Bottom bench is 50cm.

Is there a reason not to use sheeting on the outside like OSB board or plywood. Then put the wrap on ?
@NordicBuildАй бұрын
@@lrsmik i wanted the walls to be able to "breathe" so that moisture can get out from the insulation. I'm not sure what would happen if you had another layer OBS there but I don't think it is needed for sauna like this

Hello Tomi. I love your sauna and thank you for sharing its construction steps by steps. Would you provide more details like its size ? An maybe would you share your plan ? Its size seems perfect and I like both vertcals windows and the stroveman is beautifull.. i think doing exactly the same configuration. Thanks in advance.
@NordicBuildАй бұрын
Thank you for watching ☺️ The size it got to was 4.2m x 2.2m if you measure the outside Walls. And on the inside the Sauna part got to around 2x2meters. Rest is the dressing room/relax Ceiling inside is 2.4meters High on the high side. And 2 meters on the lower Side. My plans were more just a quick drawing on paper with the dimensions and where I wanted the doors and windows benches and stove.

You can see my "plans" at the 2:00 mark in the video 😅 Rest is improvised while building it and looking at what materials we got etc

grate video! Would like to hear more about insulation materials, layers and why! :) nice sauna!
@NordicBuild3 ай бұрын
@@herkustrumpe3661 thank you, I might make a separate video about that. ☺️ But in short a wind protection sheet around the house to stop wind from going through. There should be a little gap between the sheet and the Boards to let air still move. I used then Rockwool as the wall insulation on the Inside, this can handle wet/moist conditions. Then Sauna Foil on top of that to stop moisture from the inside going in to the insulation. But this will have to be it's own video.
