haha no way i remember watching this video a couple years back, i only now came across it after watching alex leonidas video and saw you comment on it and decided to check out your channel, crazy to see the change from someone who started out as what seams to be a Minecraft youtuber to this disciplined hard working person

@@SanderJanssenBSc yep! i've stopped for about 1 or 2 years now, and I've started working around the same time but only got a gym membership in September of last year since gyms where I live are so expensive but before that I'd do calisthenics and use my school bag as a makeshift dumbbell

Hey very good message bro. God bless you. You should read Kevin Zadai books. Heavenly Visitation is his first of like 70 books about real Supernatural encounters with Jehovah, Jesus, The Holy Spirit, Holy Angels and demons. Im sure you will fall in love with Gods Word. Have you tried reading The Holy Bible?

I second every bit of this video! Some solid points nailed down reassuring me about the efficacy of reading textbooks over video lectures. I have always, unlike most, found video lectures to be very passive. I find it much more time consuming, battling through the dilemma of playing it at double the speed to save time and thereby rewinding to parts i couldn't comprehend in the process. Textbooks have the points laid out in one go and are easy to locate. Plus, it allows for active engagement and formation of your own visual maps rather than set standards by an instructor, thereby aiding better long-term retention. Then again, it's all a matter of preference. I found them particularly useful for statistics too! Thanks a ton!

Hoping to see more of your 10 hour routines, especially where you would incorporate some textbook/notes studying! (And also valuable insights like these.) Sometimes it is not people are able to obtain a certain career path just people have different priorities. For example, when I worked I talked to a lot of educated people (mostly women) that after finishing college were helping to raise a family. Or the career path wasn’t right for them. My guidance councillor she studied Computer Science at fist, excelled in it but hated it. And I studied Business. I liked the idea of money and being my own boss but mid 20s, my values changed and wanted more of a balanced life and time for my hobbies.

Hey! I wanted to know your academic journey.....as I read few comments here telling that "how you transformed from unmotivated student to a higly motivated one?". So, were you not so good at academics before? At what age did you start to study hard ? Could you plzz also share you scores/marks when you were in high school v/s now when you have improved a lot! I'm 19 y/o. I have already ruined my whole academics and wasted hell lot of time. I want to change now. Am I too late now ?

@@SanderJanssenBSc Thank you so much ! Yup, I love podcasts.....I'll be waiting... I'm really curious to know about all of these in a detailed manner. :) But for now, could you plzz just share *the age at which you started to work on yourself and change?* (Idk why but I'm just obsessed with this question....ik comparing isn't good as we all are different, but it might give me some push to start working towards my academics!)

Great to have you back! And thanks so much for being so open about stress and mental health and shit, we dudes have a tendency to keep all of this inside ourselves because it's "unmanly" or some other bs. It's easier to go through those rough patches knowing that we ain't the only person in the world who has that happen to them. Also, I just picked up Essentialism by Greg McKeown at the library today. Gonna start reading it today right before I go to sleep, seems like a really nice book. Tried reading 5 AM Club a week or two ago and the book just felt like a "you're unique and magical" kind fictional story, so it feels really nice to have a book I'm pretty sure I'll like about discipline and such.

Great episode! If you want to look into free meditation apps I'd recommend Medito. I've been using it since I started and found it better than Headspace. Maybe not in the UI or anything like that, but I just felt better when I knew it was supporting a non-profit whose main goal is to make meditation possible for everyone without having to spend money. Another thing that I believe is worth investing in, is upgrading your gear (such as instruments) to something that gives you just enough new functionality to work as an extra motivation. When I got myself a new electric bass, I genuinely spent 90% of my free time just practicing and getting to know this new instrument. Obviously it doesn't work long term, but once every year or every second year isn't all that stupid. It also helps breathe some fresh life into a hobby if your current gear is getting worn out. Old running shoes are useable, but feel pretty different from newer ones.
@SanderJanssenBSc

Thanks for the nice comment, very detailed too! Love reading stuff like this. The gear upgrade is definitely solid. Glad you also see it doesn't work long term but does wonders in the short term! I will stick to headspace myself since I've used it for years and I think the packs on there are awesome. Not just the meditation but also the music and the cool other features:) thanks for the recommendation tho, really appreciate you looking out for me!
